What, who got the player they wanted???

Both Lemon and the Eagles have confirmed that Khan was on the phone with Lemon telling him he was going to be the Steelers pick at 21, when the Eagles made the trade with Dallas to move up.

I am pretty sure the player the Steelers wanted was MAKAI LEMON!!!

Reaching in the 1st round - this always goes well.

What were Steelers doing sitting round and waiting with a ton of picks?

So we sat still and got a 2nd round project tackle with age questions hanging over him, and were going tio be playing musical chairs again at tackle.

Eagles made Khan look a complete fool, on the phone with Lemon while Philly was still on the clock.

    Khan is hugely overrated

Thats utterly embarrassing for khan if that actually happened. You can’t take anything for granted until you’re on the clock.

I don’t know anything about Iheanachor but everything I’m reading screams project so we are likely looking at Fautanu at RT and Cook at LT on day 1 with Iheanachor as the swing tackle / extra lineman.

I am happy enough with the pick. It seems he has the potential to be a long term starter. Hopefully it works out.

Playing the same position on the left side is nothing like playing a completely different position. Tons of guys do it. Shoot, going from guard to center is nothing particularly hard either, but there’s at least the snapping aspect of it to make it different enough. Kendrick Green wasn’t a bad center because of a position change (he’s bad at guard too).

I doubt they’ve already made their mind up about Ihenachor playing left tackle. I’m sure he will get a shot to play there, though (and I’m sure he will want the chance to do it). Both him and Fautanu will get reps there and whoever is better will get to stick. If he can’t play there, we already have a tackle who can play both, so no big deal.

Iheanachor has longer arms than Mauigoa, Fano, and Proctor, all selected before him.

He was a left tackle in collage. He will be just fine on the left side and bring stability there if in so they move him there.

Making him a guard would be mindless.
