I'd love to be richer than one other NFL owner (assumes GB doesn't really have an "owner")!

I wonder how they come to this valuation.

Internet says Steelers are worth between $6.5b - $6.85b (values from Aug 2025 according to AI overview).

Wikipedia also says that "Art II and his father, Dan Rooney, held at least 30% of the team to comply with NFL rules, with Art II inheriting and managing the majority share."

These two pieces of info suggest that 30% ownership stake in the team is worth $1.95B.

Rooney's net worth here is ~ 62% of that ownership stake (~18.5% of the 30% majority stake).

So assume that his net worth is dominated by his ownership stake, who holds the other 11.5%? Is it his son? Or maybe debt from operating the team is ~ $0.7B?

Here's another wikipedia article about the ownership restructuring of the team.

Ok, there are 32 teams, and this shows 30 teams.

I know Green Bay is owned by Stock Holders, but what other team is missing and Why?

I don't see the Bengals. Don't know why. Is it possible that the list only shows billionaires and Mike Brown is only a many hundred millionaire? They may have to kick him out.

Bengals is the other and I'd assume because Brown is so cheap he won't tell ppl how much he has.

    Nope.

That said, if looking at the Top 5 NFL Owners, these people have dealings in other businesses and other ventures. Given how the Rooney Family's biggest form of wealth is directly tied to the Steelers, it shouldn't surprise too many that they are rated so low.

This is all misleading. The ratings have nothing to do with "Team" value, only what the owner's worth is. So yes, Walmart is the richest "owner". Guess neither Bezos nor Zuckerberg own an NFL time (yet). They'd put this list to shame with 3-4 times the net worth of the highest valued owner. Googling Rob Walton (Broncos prime owner) he has a net worth almost double the one stated by the OP - about $140 billion. So maybe AR is now up to almost $2.5 billion?

Brown is just like Art's low figure.

The family owns the team, Mike Browns is just one member of the family, like Art Rooney.

The Broncos ownership almost has more than the next 4 combined.

If you look at it another way, the Broncos ownership has more than the bottom 18 combined - probably the bottom 20 if you include the 2 teams not on the list.

So, in comparison, shouldn't we feel bad for every owner but one?

Hmmm.....the Walton family. I wonder what small family business they're involved with.
