I dont know, if hes there it would be hard to lay off that pick. If your strategy is building the trenches (which I agree with) it would be hard to pass up a guard that good.

I'd be fine with that pick.

Interesting. Covering the bases for certain but interesting choice nevertheless.

He didn't have a good combine. Yes every once in awhile he would throw an amazing bullet right on the money and then follow that up with 2 throws 15 feet over the receivers head on an out route.

For me, his workout was confirmation on what I saw from him all season. I had such hope that he would build off his Boise State Resume but that wasn't to be. Those traits man... you cannot teach size nor athletic ability like that. If only he had the tools to go with it.

He is also going to be 24 before his Rookie Season is over. If he we're turning only 23, that would be more manageable.

He was terrible during Senior Bowl week wouldn't go through his reads, and just look to take off and run.

The Steelers already have the undersized inside linebacker covered.

I will not be surprised to see these players show up on the Steelers Draft board next week.

Good Trio to bring in the week before.

If the Steelers have passed on QBs through 5 rounds, I wouldn't mind them throwing a 7th rounder at QB Taylen Green and his 4.36 speed. I know Green is dead set on playing QB in the NFL, but.........

Kept trying to tell people about EMW. The Safety concerns are very real. Beyond Elliot and maybe Savage, no other options are currently on the roster.

EMW has a skillset that the Steelers have not had since Ryan Clark. If anything, my pro comp for EMW was Derwin James lite. Most say Justin Reid but EMW has far superior Zone Coverage and Man Coverage ability than Reid did coming out.

Bringing in Spencer Fano is... interesting... to say the least. I hope the plan isn't to play him at Guard if he is an option at Pick 21. Dude simply doesn't have the overall strength required to do so and him adding any more weight will severely mitigate his greatest strengths; agility, flexibility and explosiveness. Fano's best position is at Center but the team already has one in Zach Frazier; someone I seriously doubt that Mike McCarthy would want to move to any other position.

Will have to see what happens should Fano be on the board at 21. I honestly don't think he will but who knows.

It is an Island thing baby. :) They are just built differently. There is a reason his dad, uncles, cousins have all played in the NFL.

    Polynesian
Fano is from Utah, United States, and has a Polynesian background—specifically Tongan descent. That heritage is part of a long-standing pipeline of Polynesian athletes who have made a significant impact in American football, particularly along the offensive and defensive lines.

All that is fine and dandy.

Polynesian heritage aside, it is an interesting Pre Draft Visit nevertheless. Unless the team is willing to move Fano to Left Guard, I don't see the reasoning behind it. Even if that isn't the case, does this mean that the Steelers are confident in having Troy Fautanu move back to Left Tackle?!
