That crap is kind of dumb for Harrison to keep going on about, the only way Burrow could end up on the Steelers is if he became a free agent. I doubt the Bengals would let him become available unless he was washed.

Behavioral programs for the NFL should have been something the league should have had way back in the 90s. That said, not too sure how many teams during that era were all gung ho on the idea.

The amount of money he has made and he and his representations understanding of NFL contracts is astounding. They should teach courses. Anyone reluctant to sign a franchise tag should just look at how Cousins parleyed it into huge paydays.

Flacco declined a mediocre contract extension then promptly won SB XLVII and SB MVP

And then Baltimore had no choice but to bend over and take it up the butt

“That’d be in the butt, Bob”

you couldn't have a great receiver without a QB--so I think a QB does help make a great receiver. And if the QB never throws to a certain WR --does that make that WR bad-- or is everything questionable. :confused1::confused1::confused1::confused1::confused1:

Also under consideration is a rule requiring a mental health evaluation for any coach who answers, “the standard is the standard”.

Free agency spend rankings based only on the fully guaranteed money contract $s for each team. Steelers were very frugal with the guaranteed money this year. I am thinking this is a sign of their expected roster turnover to younger players in the next couple years. (They haven't signed Rodgers yet so their position might change in the next few weeks).

I don't get why players sign fake deals like this.

My understanding is that he's going to pay the commission on the full value of the deal $172mm, but only end up getting paid $20MM.

The PA sets the max commission at 3% (again, I believe that's total contract value). So here, the agent is presumably making $5.16MM of Cousin's $20MM.

But if he signed a one year $20MM contract, the agent would make 600k.

Maybe someone like Cousins can get a better deal with his agency. Especially on the funny money that's obviously never going to get paid?

I wonder if this will also set a floor for Rodgers ($20MM).

He's clearly better that Cousins and will play a much more important role on the team.

IMO, it would be interesting to see where all of these teams were re: cash spending prior to UFA. I think this is the 3rd year of the 3 year period for cash spending rules.

Maybe some teams were forced into spending a bunch of cash this year?

It's a good point NB. Looking at the top 10 teams there isn't a clear pattern with who is spending how much. Loser teams (TEN, LVR) and SB teams (NE).

Dang, here I was reading it as what team names are longer than the bar above and where to shift them to fit
I got as far as Jets and all the way to the right and Commanders all the way to the left.

Sad thing is... Burrow is gonna age-out quicker than most QBs because of abuse due to sh!tty O lines over the years. Not sure how much he has left in the tank. Burrow would have to end up somewhere with a top 5 Oline to be effective.

I think that Dobbs is another level. Like Charlie Batch in his early years, Ben always had a huge amount of respect for Dobbs, and we know that he is unusually bright.

IIRC when Pacman Jones was a Cowboy (I think it was him) the team had one employee whose job it was to stay with him and keep him out of trouble. If the league wants to really get serious, they'll hire one of these guys for each player. Pay these guys 100 grand each ($150M - $200M total) to keep these guys in check. Of course I'm kidding - okay, half kidding.

No more old overpaid pieces for the defense. They are already an underperforming disappointment!!

Seriously, that would be super-duper fun to watch Lawrence in the front 7 mix.

I can only imagine the steep price the Giants would be looking to extract for Lawrence.
