    Yeah but some of the criticism was a little head scratching. Like they say if he cant handle the pressure of the Combine what’s that tell you. Meanwhile he showed his metal when he played his best ball when the stakes were highest and helped bring a championship to Ohio.

    Some people just don’t test well.

    The one thing they harped on which is the first thing that has given me pause is the deep outs. Thats not something I picked up on but that would be concerning. There are a lot of things you can fix, thats not really one of them.

    I have read some stuff that, depending on the cause, you can help that to some degree.

    MM has talked about QB's generating power from their feet. There is a whole new school of teaching floating around out there at those fancy private QB clinics that are stressing the connection to the ground to develop the power to drive throws. Idea being that most guys are taught to throw it with mostly their arm and upper body. Or something - I don't know all the details. I think it is similar to how changes in throwing mechanics and their teaching got all these pitchers to hit previously video game velocities.

    It sounds like MM is thinking along similar lines. Maybe there are mechanical tweaks that can help Howard generate a bit more zip?

    No problem I Coached a kid who threw like that , he was also a Baseball pitcher ..He had a good College career as a BB pitcher he played some minor ball , but he never cracked the bigs.. At least he got a free education and is doing good in life..

    It is fascinating that two different views come from the same video depending on your biases. I have no stake either way other than a hope that Howard might amount to a better than average QB if they decide he's a starter. Another few seasons of average football would be pretty maddening to watch after watching the last QB the Steelers drafted. I'm also not as convinced as some people are that MM is some QB guru. That 'clay' he started with on other QBs sure seemed close to already molded.
