Agree. He's got Brady QB qualities.... aside from his body genetics.

 

It's a little early in the game to determine if Howard will get a chance isn't it?

He was injured early in the process, so he missed out on a real opportunity on practice time and preseason games.

He was never going to play last season anyway. What happens from here is a mystery at this point. For all we know, Howard still isn't ready as they are learning a new offense, so they want him to be mentored for another season along with drafting a quarterback. This way both quarterbacks are learning the new offense at the same time and they can truly have a competition to see which young QB is more prepared to run the offense in the future.

Howard still has this season and two more after that before he becomes a free agent, so I would give it a couple years before he makes that determination if I were him.

Let's at least see what the new coaching staff and organization is going to do and the product they put on the field before we label them as failures.

 

Are his body genetics all that different? I don't recall ever seeing Brady take the kind of punishment that Burrow has taken. You can argue that Brady was better at going into the fetal position to avoid punishment and that he takes supreme care of his body to maintain flexibility and avoid injury. But I don't know that he has better genetics than Burrow.

I had Howard evaluated as being a quarterback that I would consider taking from the fourth round on, but a 4th to 5th round evaluation.

 

I like that he was specific, that Will has to be able to win from the pocket but believes he has everything else.

I'm not going to pretend to know what teaching that entails but I'm assuming that is what the major hang up was with his draft position.

Hopefully it's something that is more learned than instinctual, meaning that he's lacking that particular ability because he was never taught properly, not that he's simply incapable.

 

So he has KP disease?, ..i.e leaves the pocket even when there's no pressure.
