Really makes you wonder how much influence does Deion Sanders have in the sports media. A bit of a head cannon theory here but there are simply too many signs that point in this direction; Mel Kiper Jr not included.

How many people actually watched Ty Simpson play more than a few games??
I watched at least 10, and I don't see it.
Also I don't care what Alabama fans , or others say. That team was loaded. You aren't the top 3 team in 5 star players, and you aren't loaded, and they have been in the top 5- 10 for many years.

 

Tape is more important than pro days or combine. Nobody is hitting a QB at a pro day. How was the interview?

 

The combine and pro days are important as are the interviews. But the video of the games still is the most important.

On his combine and pro days Simpson was excellent and exceeded expectations! Unless I miss my guess he will not be on the board beyond pick #21.

The Jets could take him at Pick #16. The Dolphins at pick #11.

If the Steelers were interested in drafting Simpson at #21, they probably would've sent Khan and McCarthy to his pro day.

 

Did you check out the Eastern Illinois game? Alabama wins 56-0, but Simpson throws for 147 yards 0 Tds and 2 Ints. Simpson is pulled from the game after his 2nd Int going into the half. His 1st Int is just terrible as he clearly does not see the DB at all, and the 2nd int is the end of half in the endzone type of int. Simpson should have had at least 1 TDs in the game, but he kept throwing behind his WRs making them turn around and not allowing them to run into the endzone. The game was a blowout, so they didn't need Ty Simpson to play in the 2nd half.

The youtube video I saw was talking about how everyone is saying what a bad game Ty Simpson had against Indiana, but how everyone is forgetting about the Eastern Illinois game, because of the final score being 56-0.

There is a reason Ty Simpson rode the bench for his first 3 years. Last year sitting behind 3rd round pick Jalen Milroe.




This has to be one of the Craziest Stat lines I have ever seen. Your teams win the game 56-0, and your starting QB has 0 TDs and 2 Ints.

 

The fact that we are five pages in on this QB should tell you he's not a slam dunk for a first round QB.
Nothing has changed my mind about this QB class being underwhelming. They are multi season projects.

 

All QBs throw interceptions. But Simpson only threw 5 of them last year despite playing the best schedule in college football. Judge his full year below game by game. Factor that in. He is not a safe checkdown type of QB!

I am getting past the point arguing for Simpson. I'll bet he is not on the board by pick 22. All I need to find is a sucker who is willing to take it.
