What can we get for KJ/ Steelers sign RB Travis Homer

With the signing of Homer who is a special Team guy and a change of pace pass catching type RB the Team has no need for KJ..

The Team might as well trade him , could we possibly get a 4th. rounder maybe ?

Why would any team trade a fourth-round pick for a guy who showed very little as a rookie knowing the Steelers just signed two free agents to compete with him and/or push him off the roster?

 

I don't know why , but Teams do dumb thing all the time..Maybe the Team needs a cheap option for 3rd. string depth ? Maybe the Team has 3 forth round picks ? I don't know but even getting a 5th. at this time would be a good deal..

 

Man talk about a worst start for Johnson! I believe he will have to show something in camp or The Turk will be a knocking.

 

Nobody is trading a fourth-round pick for a cheap third-stringer. They get guys like that in the draft or free agency. The only reason to trade for him at all is if they think they can get significant production out of him. I doubt they could get more than a seven for him, if even that much.

 

You are probably right ..The Steelers fell for him it only takes 1 Team to value him close to that evaluation ..

 

Lots of 3rd round picks fail. Let's not act like KJ will be the 1st, for any team.
My wondering is bringing in all these RBs, and looking at more in the draft is.....
What does the new HC think of Warren.

 

Let's wait and see if Homer makes the team first or is he just a training camp body.

Sounds to me like Homer is basically the lil' Heyward replacement.

Not a guy you want to touch the ball if you can help it.

But plays lots of roles on teams (not a returner though?).

Kaleb Johnson will be traded as soon as he can no longer produce results. This is a new Coaching Staff.. so players being traded from previous regimes isn't new. That said, still worth giving Kaleb a shot.

 

Homer might just be a camp body. He was less of a contributor than I had thought. The guy has only 90 carries in seven NFL seasons, six during the last three seasons with the Bears.

 

Colbert once said that the Steelers expect the first three picks to eventually be starters. This was a miss on Kahn/Weidl if KJ doesn't make the roster. What did the scouts miss?

 

Homer seems like more of a Miles Killebrew and/or Heyward the younger replacement.

 

AS for me, I am anxious to see what some of these "Failures" on offense can do with a new coaching staff.

Seems like he's a Connor Heyward type guy. Plays on multiple special teams (not a returner I think).

Not really a guy you want touching the ball.

Johnson will probably still be the RB3. But if our RB1 and 2 are healthy, he might fight for a helmet with Homer since I don't think Johnson plays much teams (I don't think).

 

We have 12 picks already. If he is traded let’s try and get some capitol for next draft - 27.

If we can get anything for him at all its a win. I said it all offseason, Johnson showed nothing last year. Worse than nothing because he gaffed and struggled. He has to really show up this camp or his time on the 53 could be done. PS bound maybe.

 

Jones is up and down, a new OL coach is promising. Wilson's problem appeared to be professionalism and knowing where to be on the field... less promising, but correctable. Johnson just looked flat out lost. He might be the least redeemable. The light either turns on next camp or he could be out
