My wife would probably tell you that I can be pretty stubborn though. And KP and NH are two players I have pretty strong opinions about (that KP was bad and NH was OK, but built for a different era in the NFL where explosive plays didn't matter nearly as much).

Gainwell was a nice player for a season. The Steelers upgraded with Dowdle. Onward.

 

I'm gonna hold you to this. I don't see Dowdle as an upgrade to Gainwell at all.... chances are good he's a downgrade.

 

Dowdle has run for over 1,000 yards twice in his career. Gainwell set a career high last year with 537. Dowdle has the better average per carry for his career. He has previous success in McCarthy's system. Gainwell less than a year younger, but both have been in the NFL for five years. Dowdle is also a better compliment to Warren. He is more of an inside runner and frees up the third-down snaps for Warren, where he thrives.

These things can always go sideways, but the Steelers got a player who has been more successful, is a better fit, and cost less than what Gainwell got from the Bucs.
