    Agree 100%.
I liked the Rams guys. but there is a huge risk with going that too. You could wind up 1-16 to 8-9 for say 3-years.
    or the complete opposite.
It's a roll of the dice, McCarthy just seems like a safe roll.
I think you said it better than I did.

The issue with Art is he has no backbone. He is third generation ownership. Everything has been handed to him. Similar to Davis from the Raiders in a lot of ways. He is afraid to make bold decisions. The organization as a result is directionless. His decisions are always the safe ones. Keeping Ben too long, keeping a Tomlin too long, allowing Tomlin to much power, always promoting from within whether it be assistant coaches or GM. Extending Watt. Finally hiring McCarthy. The list just goes on and on and on. I am hopeful the next generation is fa% enough removed that they will be bolder and desire to create their own path. Dangerous perhaps but at least not so limp twisted and predictable.

It’s funny a lot of businesses that are third generation run into that problem. The original owner had to struggle and likely take many risks to build something. The second generation saw the struggle and knows this wasn’t easy or handed over without hard work. The third generation grew up with a silver spoon and is too far removed to understand the struggle. They are lazy and spoiled.

Reminds me of the saying: Hard times create strong men, strong men create good times, good times create weak/soft men, and weak/soft men create hard times.

I never wanted to write a bad word about the Rooney family because The Chief and Dan were freakin' awesome. But the grandson has ruined the franchise with his loyalty to Tomlin and now this idiotic chapter with grampie Rodgers.

Art Rooney II turns 74 this September 2026. After more than two decades as the face of Steelers ownership, it’s fair to say his best days in the role may be behind him. The family has always emphasized continuity and stability.
Enter Daniel “Danny” Rooney, born September 14, 1980. At 45 years old, he’s already a prominent executive in the organization, serving as Vice President of Business Development & Strategy. He’s been deeply involved in key decisions, including sitting in on head coach interviews during the search to replace Mike Tomlin. That kind of hands-on experience at the ownership level is exactly what prepares someone to lead one of the NFL’s most respected franchises.

Danny brings more than just the family name. He’s significantly taller than his father and played college football as a quarterback at Dartmouth. His athletic background and football pedigree give him credibility that goes beyond boardroom strategy in my opinion.

Art Rooney II faced criticism for the team's perceived stagiantion and rellicance on safe " recycled coaches under Tolmin. The organizational " report cards " are bottom of the barrel which directly reflects on Art II.

Many fans and analysts argue he has failed to maintain the franchise's elite standards since the death of his father, Dan Rooney. I am in this camp and look forward to the day Danny becomes the #1 owner.

We are apparently going to alternate between owners named Art and owners named Dan, and the Dans will be good, and the Arts not so good.

The Pittsburgh Steelers received a league-worst overall ranking of 32nd out of 32 teams in this internal/anonymous report card by the players in 2025. While a few bright spots exist on the training side, major deficiencies in facilities, family treatment, travel, and ownership drag the organization to the bottom.

    Grades:
    • Treatment of Families: F
    • Home Game Field: F-
    • Food/Dining Area: B-
    • Nutritionist/Dietician: B
    • Locker Room: F-
    • Training Room: C
    • Training Staff: B+
    • Weight Room: B
    • Strength Coaches: B-
    • Position Coaches: B ( many have changed since 2025 )
    • Offensive Coordinator: INC
    • Defensive Coordinator: INC
    • Special Teams Coordinator: A-
    • Team Travel: F
    • Head Coach: INC
    • General Manager: C+
    • Team Ownership: D-
Overall: 32/32 for dead last in the NFL.

IMO, this is the first thing Danny should do.
