Could Broderick Jones move inside to Guard?

The Steelers still have one hole on their starting O-Line (Left Guard). They have Dylan Cook and Broderick Jones battling for the Left Tackle position (neither of them are above average currently at that position). Could the team bring in Rasheed Walker LT to strengthen the position and bump Broderick Jones inside to Guard. This may be a more natural fit for him based on his strengths; quick release, long reach, speed to pull. Limit one of his biggest weaknesses, playing in space.

I can think of a number of reasons to say no but the first one is his broken neck

If he is ready and cleared to play again it’s going to be a long time from now

A little late to start learning a new position for this year

Plus another post says they are comfortable with Anderson there

Of course they're going to say they are comfortable with Anderson there. If you or me were all they had at guard they'd claim they were comfortable with that.

Last update I saw stated 6 month timetable for return. He is going to be learning a new system already with the new staff, not that hard mentally to make that transition.

Jones should be moved to the door. This is his last season they are not going to entertain the 5th year option.

    See what Heinz said.

I can see an injury settlement in his future.

I still want to see Broderick Jones move back to RT. I know, I know, but I still have hope in BJ, now that Pat Meyer has moved on.

As @jeh1856@jeh1856 stated, Broderick will be lucky as all hell to come back from the surgery he had. Fusion surgery isn't something one wants to roll the dice on. Now granted, the team has far more access to his health than we as fans do but it really does raise questions as to how he will even come back; much less position change.

Now, to officially answer the question of Broderick becoming a Guard?! Not happening; injury or not.

I think that's why Dan Moore didn't want to move he wanted that LT money, it worked ho got paid in free agency.

Some of the beat writers are saying Jones injury outlook is better than previously reported FWIW.

I'd rather trust the teams PR for an update.

Jounalism is now a lot less about honesty, integrity and truth and more about sensationalism, vanity and narcissism.

I think it's unfair to label Broderick Jones a "bust" because of an injury, but it was looking questionable if he was ever going to live up to being a 1st round pick, especially one you traded up for. Sometimes it takes a guy a few years to develop, that might have been the case for Jones. Hopefully he can come back from his injury, and at least be a serviceable offensive lineman.

He will certainly get better day to day therapy but now just about anyone can get the same quality of surgery if they have insurance

I just had my shoulder worked on by the Pittsburgh Pirates Orthopedic Surgeon

Not because I’m anyone special but his office was convenient to where I live so I called and got an appointment

Many moons ago my “fastball” was clocked at a blazing 70 mph

Only reason I pitched was because I was the only one who didn’t walk everyone

I could throw the ball straight over the plate and then it came flying right back at me like batting practice

Khan addressed it a few weeks ago and was noncommittal on Broderick Jones. At the time, he said Elliott was on schedule to be ready for football activity and Darnell was good to go.

"He had a significant injury. We're monitoring how he progresses. I know he's working hard. It's still early in the process, but that's certainly something that we're monitoring."
