Why would the Steelers pay that much for a 4/3 DE?

Not for 2 first round pick.....And this is not a need for the steelers....Spend the draft pick and money at the other place!

You are saying that nobody said that, but there are threads here with people saying exactly that. There is a thread here that has pages of people arguing that he is done and fried.

Maybe you should do a little reading before you make an accusation when you clearly don't know what you're talking about.

That's a great way to come into a discussion. Make a post that kicks off with a total falsehood and then puff your chest out on top of it as if your inaccuracy somehow makes your second point while accusing me of what you're doing.

    Bravo.

By the way, me saying bravo is also me being sarcastic.

We’ll never know but it appears they were proceeding as if they were still on board with Crosby until their doctors got a look at him.

To me Crosby is a better player than Hendrickson. The later doesnt worry me nearly as much as if the Ravens had Crosby. I think if Crosby was never injured and 100% there is no way Ravens back out.

I know exactly what I'm talking about. You are, at best, exaggerating the negative comments about Watt. People are rightfully criticizing his contract and saying he isn't the player he was. That isn't the same as saying he is done or fried.

Ravens cancelling Crosby and signing Hendrickson still gets them an elite DL and saves them 2 first round picks.
    Smart move, no?

    Maybe.

Hendrickson is 31, so it's still going to be an over payment to try to win now.

But they aren't selling their future to the same degree as the Crosby trade.

I agree with you that this is better for the Rats (probably part of the reason they didn't follow through on Crosby...I won't be surprised if he can still start the season). Which is worse for us IMO. Especially in the medium term. Which is where a team with no QB should be focused.

Nah, just a GM fumbling around before signing on the dotted line. Ironically, Hendrickson only played 7 games last season because of injury, and the two games Crosby missed he actually wanted to play but the team ruled him out.....

Hendrickson vs the Steelers; 8 gms, 9 1/2 sacks
Crosby vs the Steelers; 4 gms, 1 1/2 sacks

You have to wonder if this is over, or if the Raiders will be asking the NFL to step in and somehow punish the Ravens?

Why? FA just started today. It's called legal tampering for a reason.

I was talking about the trade, not the Free Agent Hendrickson pickup.

Speaking of FA starting today, I wonder how many former Dallas Cowboy players will be making their way to Pittsburgh?

Reminds me of when the Cowboys hired McCarthy as head coach. It was the worst kept secret in the league that the job was his and then the Cowboys tried to satisfy the Rooney Rule by interviewing Marvin Lewis. We all know he wasn't getting the job but they could say we interviewed a top minority coach for our head coaching vacancy. It was sketchy as hell and felt like they were giving the finger to the Rooney Rule.
