I believe that Crosby is a much better player at this point

I think that cancellation of the trade is negative for the Steelers. Crosby is good, but I don’t think he’s as valuable for the Ravens for 2027 and beyond as the two 1st round picks and cap space that they will now have at their disposal.

The Raiders had the most cap space available they can afford to keep Crosby if they want to.

Now the Ravens will probably draft a WR or OL the Steelers want in the first round :hehehe:.

Bad move by the Ravens. No one in the NFL will ever trust them. I hope it was worth it.

Ravens haven’t been able to draft an elite receiver, ever really. Wouldn’t worry too much there.

But they will be in good position this year if they want to grab one of the top 3 receivers in the draft.

not a big fan of drafting receivers in the first round in today’s NFL. Usually the system needs to be right and the QB has to be vertical. Which Lamar Jackson isn’t.

Nobody said he is done or fried, but sure, keep attacking those straw men.

Watt is on the decline, enough that giving him another massive contract last offseason was stupid.

The Raiders had an insane amount of cap space, so they might be able to keep him.

I don't buy that narrative. I think they realized they could get Hendrickson and that they would be much better off with him and their first-round picks. I can't prove that, but I suspect many NFL teams are going to look at what the Ravens did as shady.

In the first ever case of an NFL GM getting cold feet because of message board responses; the Ravens reverse the trade.

Keep posting! The internet GMs are gonna take over. Your time is now!

I know you didn't see that they signed Hendrickson when you posted this, but even without that deal the Ravens were probably better off without the Crosby deal. Now, they have their elite pass rusher and their first-round picks. The Ravens are much better off with this outcome than trading for Crosby.

There's no way this doesn't impact other team's willingness to work with them. Super sketchy ****

Sure, they signed Hendrickson and kept the draft picks, which may work out for then, but the Ravens still released several players to get cap compliant for Crosby. A bit of cluster for them.

Right? Teams trade for injured players every year. Everyone knew Crosby wouldn't pass a physical currently.

    Seems incredibly suspect.

Supposedly there is sentiment among GM's across the league that this was a BS move by Baltimore. I know they "failed" his physical, but they knew he was coming off injury. He certainly wasn't going to be ready to go by yesterday. There is belief that if Hendrickson had been signed that they wouldn't have backed out, but did so because they felt like they could get a different player at a slightly less contract and not give up picks. It wouldn't entirely shock me if NFL GM's are going to be much more hesitant to work with Baltimore in the trade department.

Hendrickson is a lesser player, three years older, and they spent a ton of money on him (and gave him term). Getting their picks back is huge, but this deal for Trey is pretty risky.

They've also lost a good bit in FA... I get that they would consider Hendrickson a huge get, but they've lost a good amount of quality production from last season. They had less than $20 million in space before the Hendrickson deal, so I don't know how much splash they can make in the market.

    That all seems totally logical.

It doesn't impact the Steelers because they and the Ravens are not ever going to do much business together.

Bottom line is that the Ravens did the Raiders real dirty. No one is giving the Raiders diddly squat for Crosby now. Best they are likely to get is ONE conditional pick. Like a 3rd that could become a first or something.

So.... bring Maxx to the Steelers and we will just put it on the Ravens and the Raiders for another 5 years.

Mad Maxx was the only player teams HAD to stop on that defense, and he was still a beast. Imagine him on a real defense.

Eh, maybe. The Raiders might still get something decent for Crosby pending physicals and stuff... but its entirely possible that it hurt his trade stock considerably. It all sucks for LV.
