Rodgers to appear on McAfee’s show today

The team better not allow Rodgers to hold them hostage. They need to know well before the draft so they can map out their plan going forward. Knowing whether Rodgers will be quarterback impacts every single move the team will make in free agency and the draft.

 

Pretty positive it only “dragged out” for the media and fans. I don’t believe for a second the Steelers didn’t have a firm commitment from Mr darkness retreat long before he showed up. I would expect the same to hold true this season. If the Steelers appear to be making a move for Willis or Jones or any starting qb the Steelers already know he won’t be returning. Conversely if we don’t see any action on the free agent market the Steelers already know he will be returning

 

He didn’t hold the Steelers hostage. The Steelers already knew he would be signing. Only the media and fans didn’t know and the media pushed the holding hostage narrative

 

Hopefully he announces he is moving on with his life’s work into mining caves. God Speed

I think he was saying it is the same thing this year.. MM knows if he is coming back or not already ..I am sure he will as he wants another Playoff run and he would like to build a Legacy of teaching a QB ..He may even try 2 seasons if he gets the right weapons, is why I think we move up and get 1 of the top 2 WRS ..

 

Another playoff run? He got beaten and humiliated by 30 in the WC round. He can’t move anymore. This is insane.

 

He may be right, but we have no idea if the Steelers know or not. I would hope they know, but it doesn't really make sense to know and not publicly announce one way or another that the starting quarterback is returning or he is not.

Me saying that I don't want Rodgers to hypothetically hold the Steelers hostage is simply stating the obvious. At the very least, the team needs to know.

 

Ben said the same thing in an interview with Willie Colon on First Things First, regarding himself. He can still throw it all over the damn place with accuracy... just can't move.

 

Well with an NFL pass rush coming at you……….that’s a problem.

 

He had 1 NFL WR and a chump OC and a HC who didn't want to take any risk..The game was close til the 4th. quarter.. A better OC and some actually NFL WR'S and he can make a run... He is a QB if guys get open he can still fire rockets , he just needs guys who can actually get open and catch..

 

He's afraid now.
He had everything you could want in Wrs, and was basically his own OC his last year with the Jets, he also was two years younger, and He didn't help them.

 

He threw for 3900 yards and 28 TD'S that was his 5th. best season of his career..

The Jets ranked 31st. in rushing that year more of a problem than AR...

 

Anyone who thinks you are winning anything of any significance with Aaron Rodgers at QB is delusional.

 

Meaningless stats. Did You actually watch him play for the Jets?? Anytime they really need him to come through he failed, and now he is 2 years older. I don't care how good your OL is, or the weapons you have. You can't be afraid to get hit, and I can't think of one game since his Achilles injury that he hasn't looked this way.
Can He still throw??
Yes.
Does he still have the mind for it?? Yes....., but He is scared now, and their is no sport you can play that way, at the best of your ability ,if you are worried about getting hurt.

I don't think he is afraid I think he is protecting himself, and more weapons he will play better.. MM is a smart OC and will use more 3 WR sets which equals more speed on the field meaning guys can get open faster and can get more YAC yards...

My take is that's 3 or 4 more regular season wins so a better seed and hopefully a home game ...

I don’t disagree he had weak weapons and coaching however.

That won’t make his mobility better though or the fact he is afraid to get hit.

True but I knew we would play bad , so I want a HC who I hope can get the Team ready to play..

So yes I would like another try with more weapons and a better OC and HC and maybe a real seed and not a Wild Card..

Don't think the Steelers are in a panic about some other team swooping in and signing him. At best he might see an offer from the Vikes and Steelers. But I don't see either team getting into a bidding war. More like; "here's our offer, take it or leave it. But if we don't hear from you by the draft we assume you are not interested."

 

On an EPA basis, the Steelers best personnel grouping for passing was 11 personnel, ranking 11th in the NFL. Their best rushing group was 13 personnel, ranking 6th. The problem with running more 11 personnel is the lack of extra protection for a 43 yr old QB. 13 personnel can work in the NFL. The Rams ran it 3X more often than any other team and their passing offensive in that grouping was #1 in the NFL. Gotta have an OC that knows what he is doing though.
