Provide proof that he is afraid to get hit or stop posting false statements

And he was definitely an improvement over the year before

    watch the game

The ball was like a hot potato for him... Roethlisberger also had the same problem in his last two years, which is normal when you get older

    Nope

    I’ll admit he avoided sacks

But you are just regurgitating the fantasies other have made up to berate Rodgers

Brees and Brady did similar as they aged. Rivers did as well.

As these guys get older, their legs go. They can't throw on the move any longer. They can not move and reset to throw from another spot. They know they have to play the "old man game" and get the ball out quickly before the pass rush forces them to move their feet.

Marino played for years that way. I don't see it as a critique of the player(s) so much as the harsh realities of aging in the NFL. It is brutal.

But I do think that is interesting to note that if you go back and quickly review some of the most impactful passing plays in the playoffs from last season....they were made when the QB had to move, reset, and then throw. That is the biggest reason I want the Steelers to move on from Rodgers. Not so much that Rodgers is so awful, just that the ceiling is so low. Granted the floor is high...but it all still adds up to "meh".

    I agree.

If you have a quarterback that can't move, everything has to be great around him to give the offense a chance to be explosive. Far too many plays need to be perfectly executed to be successful plays down the field. That's why you see so many check downs and short passes. They simply can't escape the rush well enough and have their legs under them to make significant throws. Rodgers gets away with it a bit better than most because he still has a live arm and can throw off platform, but he struggles when there is pressure.

All quarterbacks struggle with pressure, but mobile quarterbacks that can maneuver the pocket or escape the pocket all together are able to make plays outside the offensive system. They can make a negative play a positive play with that mobility. If a quarterback can do that just 4 or 5 times a game for first downs on plays that would have otherwise failed. That turns 4 or 5 drives into potential successful drives that can lead to points and helps field position.

Yes, Rodgers' cerebral game is elite and he helps get the team into better plays. It is his physical limitations that dictate the way he plays. For Rodgers to work at a very high level, the offensive line has to become very close to dominant to give him the running game, which gives him the play action, which also gives him more time in the pocket to look down the field to go through more progressions for bigger plays. But that's football. Something like the OL is a force multiplier that makes everyone better.

I just want a young quarterback that will keep getting better as time goes on and not worse. A 43-year-old quarterback has to have perfection going on around him to succeed, and his skills will diminish the longer he stays with the team.

I sound like a broken record but it's just the reality of the situation. The odds of getting everything just right AND having a 43-year-old stay healthy the entire season is very low. If Rodgers is back that's exactly what I will hope for with all my heart and soul, but that's going to be difficult to expect everything to fall into place like that.

I'm sorry , but I believe he was one of the problems. Does He still have a good arm? Yes.
Does He still have the brains? Yes.
Is he freaking scared to death of getting hit? Yes.
I don't care what OL you have, or weapons you have, You are going to get hit as a Qb. If You think Rodgers wasn't a problem, then Ben wasn't a problem at all in his last year. They both could still throw, they both still could read the field, but they both were scared of getting hit, notice how quickly both decided to get rid of the ball. Rodgers last year was one of the fastest, and Ben's last year was the fastest that year. Because they both were scared. I don't blame them. Hell Rodgers broke a wrist on a hit that would have been nothing to him 5 years ago.

Difference is a pocket Qb isn't afraid to get hit, they take hits to make plays. Old Men that are forced into not moving are scared to get hit.
Also running has nothing to do with movement, and I'm not saying you said that, I'm just explaining it to others. You can evade a hit by just moving a foot one way , or the other. Something that pocket Qb used to be able to do, a style, and ability that has been lost because of the Qbs don't practice it. They practice taking off now. Heck the ability to just step up in the pocket have been almost lost.
Hell in the ring you don't evade a punch or kick by running, but by slight movements.
You don't evade a bull in the ring by running either , watch a bull fighter/evader..
