What round is better question. Because we have a lot of other major needs to address.

    Exactly

And the 6th round is not the place to be looking for a LT

    So the answer is no

i call BS with more important needs. this is just as if not one of the most important needs as well. if you ain't keeping whomever is the QB clean, it doesn't matter how many and who the WR's are. broderick jones ain't your long term answer. injury or not. there are 5 spots that need manned well on the offensive line, you can't stop at 3 -4 and call it complete.

I don't think you give up on B jones just yet Dude has talent, some players for whatever reason take time to "get it" New coaching may just be what he needs.

I seriously doubt if they take a LT in the 1st round again, but maybe in the 2nd or 3rd round. Broderick Jones is very questionable at LT, so the potential need is there. They can definitely use a guard as well, be it through free agency or the draft. They say the game is won in the trenches, and I believe that's true. Also, it helps if you have a franchise QB, something the Steelers are in desperate need of if they're ever going to be serious contenders again.

I'm perfectly fine taking a LT at 21.

Okay then who is the backup to Cook if Jones can't play?

I have been on record in stating that depending on how severe Brodericks neck injury is will determine whether or not the Steelers opt to take an OT early. Tomorrow will be very telling since that is media day for all the Offensive Lineman.

If the Steelers are skeptical of Jones playing next season maybe take a developmental LT in the third round.

Sucks missing on first rd picks although it happens to all teams. Have to consider it early pending who is available.

If Kadyn Proctor from Alabama is there, they have to consider it.

At 6' 7" and almost 370 lbs he is just massive with good movement skills. He is just a huge powerful young man that will at the very least help in the running game. His sheer size and power is amazing. He is also a freak athlete that can run well and jump showing he can be explosive.

The issue is that he may be more scheme specific. This guy is built for a power running game. He can play zone concepts, but he is better equipped for the power game and Duo stuff. He's a road grader.

In the passing game, it would probably help him to lose some weight IMO. If he gets his hands on you in pass protection...it's over. However, he does get too upright at times and will occasionally overreact to a pass rusher's first move and he can't get back into position. I believe that much of that can be coached out of him and with better conditioning he has a chance to be a monster.

He is physically dominant, but what type of blocking scheme is McCarthy going to go with when the coaching staff evaluates the offensive linemen already on the roster? If Proctor is there, he has to be a consideration. At the very least, if he doesn't pan out at tackle, he will be a dominant guard.

Edit: forgot to add a video.

I wouldn't take a left tackle day one in the draft. Third or forth to develop.

Can Dylan Cook handle a full season as the starter? Need to bring in a free agent for competition.

Also need a left guard. Third round? Also a free agent. Seumalo was a nice addition at the time but just can't stay out of the tub and is a FA.

The left side of the line throws a wrench into what I believe is a solid right side and center.

The Bengals should be a shining example of what having a franchise QB, and 2 elite WRs, but no OL looks like. Build the trenches first.

They are far less likely to find one later, but it's not impossible. If Jones is out, they might be starting a guy who went undrafted. Alejandro Villanueva also wasn't drafted. If you want to go back a ways, John Jackson was drafted in the 10th round.

The Team has been throwing around the ideal of moving Mt Washington..He looks to be over 300 lbs. to me , I say give him a shot...He looks like a beast as a run blocker , he looks strong and Athletic so why not give him a look ?

There is a big difference between blocking as a TE versus blocking as a LT, leave Washington where he is we don't have time for a project.
