I can answer part of this

Regular season TV revenue is split equally between all teams for the entire season regardless of playoffs

Dead cap money doesn’t cost the owners anything extra

It just diminishes what they can spend on active players in any given year

The cap is the same for every team

Yeah I bungled the phrasing on that.

I meant that Rooney might not see it that they/he has the liquid capital to pay some offensive coordinator $5 million to go play golf. I don't know why I yammered on about salary cap. Old man brain?

Exactly what I've been trying to say. While rich to most of us, poor in comparisons with some other owners. I've said many times they aren't cheap, they just don't have the money that some do.

Interesting. I see your point about not caring where fav team plays. I was born in raised in Pittsburgh. Have not lived there for 50 years but should any of the 3 or should I say 2.5 (Pirates) Pro teams move out I would lose interest in them.

Even though the Meadowlands now Metlife is in my State it is considered New York fandom and we were happy the NYG and NYJ funded it. The teams split the cost. Jersey did help with some of it but minor.

Doesn't answer the question of Rooney's wealth but here is the Steelers contribution. So it looks like team revenue and earnings are very much middle of the pack. Also, another consideration is the guaranteed money in contracts. By NFL rule a chunk of that needs to be put into escrow. That is a lot of cash to take out of the bank and into someone's account.

Rooney being cheap is debatable (I say no), Rooney being extremely wealthy is not. He is.
