Someone mentioned trading Pat after I thought about it it makes sense he doesn't fit what Mike wants to do , so how much could we save ? And what could we get ?

I would trade Mason as well because I simply don't think he is a good QB...

    31 teams didn’t want Mason

    Three times

And you are thinking he has trade value

i disagree about mason. maybe mccarthy can help. i disagree that this is as far as he goes. malik willis and mac jones were starters that tanked and became backups and now they are all the rage. it can happen. there is a lot better chance under mccarthy than there was under MT. the titans were a mess so i don't even count them.

    I generally agree with this.

But I do think he's a competent backup.

Maybe at the end of camp we could get some kind of late round pick, or maybe a pick swap if we wanted to trade him.

We traded Santonio Holmes for less, id think the steelers should listen to offers for Metcalf.

and Holmes was a better receiver than DK

I'm not over the moon over either of these guys (or really any option we will likely have this offseason).

But Jones has looked reasonably good across multiple seasons. He's played in 63 games and started 57.

Across this body of work, his 17 game average is:
    334 completions / 502 attempts / 66.5% comp / 3438 yards / 18 TDs (3.6%) / 13 INT (2.7%) / 6.9 Y/A / 6.36 AY/A

Willis has played in 22 games with 6 starts.

Across his body of work, here are his 17 game averages:
    81 comp / 120 att / 67.7% / 1022 yards / 3.9 TDs / 1.9 INTs / 8.5 Y/A / 8.43 AY/A

I'd guess the averages are low in part because he has so few starts and they are averaging by games? But I don't know exactly how PFR does the average here.

Either way, while I want someone with athleticism I think it should be the cherry on top and not the main course.

I think Jones is the better option of these two. And my guess is that the acquisition cost (and subsequent contract) will be much better.

I think Willis is still way more of a lottery ticket. I'd be OK getting him if the cost was reasonable. But I don't think it will be.

They shouldn't be looking to trade Metcalf after one season they wouldn't get good value for him anyway. They need to be looking to add more talent to the WR room.

I heard the exactly same thing about Heyward not last year, but 3 years ago.

Perhaps, id be fine with adding to the receiver room. But DK is a bit of a head case, if someone did offer a 2nd rnd pic, it would be hard to say no

I suspect you would take a guy retired for 12 years

But you are not known for your football intellect

    Or any other version

yeah i forgot hes been retired for 12 years, what an oversight! He must be getting AARP emails already

To be honest though, i don't really glean much football knowledge from your posts. Just a few clever (or more often silly) little one liners.

All I'm saying is I heard all the same , from some of the se people now saying TJ is done, 3 years ago with Cam Heyward , and they were totally wrong then.
TJ Watt in 14 games had....3ints, 3 forced fumbles, 8 pass defensed, 7 sacks, and 10 tackles for a loss, all this while being the most chipped guy in the NFL, and some of that coming off a injury that had nothing to do with him. Yeah , sounds like he's washed. LoL

hes not the same guy, what percentage of the time has he been chipped or double teamed? I havent seen that much. But if you have that number on a year by year basis it could be telling. As far as injury, he seems like hes injured almost every year

OMG. They showed it during a Sunday night game this year. Cris Collinsworth had a freaking big a$$ stat board showing it during the game. I thought You watch the games??
Also I did a whole thread about it with still shots, before he(Collinsworth) backed everything I said , months later. Which You argued about in that thread. So I showed pictures, and plays, and Cris Collinsworth showed stats, and still you don't believe it.
