I'm a product of the same era, yet I am not going to assume consent and I am certain she was too drunk to give it.

What doesn't add up? I agree with you about the other woman, but unless you are going to focus on the DTF tag, which is crap, the facts do not back your side.

People settle for lots of reasons. Nuttley refused to cooperate with investigators, witnesses disputed parts of her story, she was inconsistent in her testimony. Gee, you think she might have been lying?

There was no settlement in the Georgia case.

You think Bens conduct would be acceptable to someone like Rooney? The only thing Ben was guilty of that night was not being a gentleman. If Rooney thought Ben raped that girl he would have been gone.

No games, I just gave You a real life example, straight from my own experience with sober women, while I was drunk. Guess what, I didn't try saying they raped me after the fact because while drunk I made a bad decision that I was so drunk I couldn't remember anything, and woke up the next morning naked with a naked woman who clearly took advantage of me. I like most humans chalked it up as a bad decision by me for putting myself in that situation, with a woman that could, and did take advantage of me. Now in Ben's situation they were both drunk. So apparently by you, neither could be held responsible for giving concent.

Almost every Football player will settle. You can do it whether you are guilty , or not cheaper, and the people, and their lawyers/representation know this. You can literally miss a whole season of football trying to fight it, which will cost you more than the settlement, get behind the 8 ball, maybe lose your job to someone else, and they can drag it on forever, or you can bite the bullet, and do the cheaper thing.....settle.

The DFT tag shows a woman who wasnt shy about advertising she was down for sex. How is that crap when you add to it that she was following Ben around all night to different bars. Come on man you guys are being naive with this.

2 people went into a bathroom to have sex and she changed her mind, probably because Ben was too drunk or creepy or for whatever reason she changed her mind and Ben got pissed. I think she had an abrasion on her knee or something? Forehead? Cant remember but Ben probably called her a tease and c—t and said get out of here shoving her and she fell down. Use your imagination.

What didnt happen was rape, there wasnt even enough DNA to identify Ben, rape kit was inconclusive and showed very little and didn’t support her accusation.

So no, it doesnt add up.

Some people know what they're looking at and also know what they are talking about when they are discussing football and doing breakdowns. Many don't.

The ex-professional players understand the game in a way that most never will. They have seen everything and can identify anything when they see it. Even pros get fooled by pre-snap looks the defense gives to an offense to disguise what they are really doing, and need to see what happens post snap to identify the scheme. But they know what they are talking about in general. Even then, some of them understand the X's and O's, but even they don't always have the greater understanding of the big picture like a good coordinator would.

Other people do videos and write articles with barely more than the knowledge of a pee-wee football level player. It's embarrassing...and even worse, they actually get people to click on their content and they make money off of those people that don't know any better and then they go to message boards and regurgitate the crap they got off of these clowns like it's gospel.

Try not to get so jaded that you believe the nonsense some spout about all athletes being jerks. That isn't the way it is. Many of these guys even come off as jerks sometimes because there is always someone coming at them with an agenda. They either want something from them, they come at them to irritate and annoy to illicit a negative response, or they are trying to get them to slip up so they can bury them with a quote or divulge something that was given in confidence that it would never be repeated. The players get jaded and protective of themselves and their families because of the slime media people that also coexist in their world. Sometimes they act above it all and aloof because they have been burned by so many media types that it's a defense mechanism. These players and coaches have families that have to listen to all the crap that is said about them. They are well compensated, but it isn't always an easy life.

I am bowing out of further discussion on the subject in this thread. I have said my piece and given my reasons for my comments.
