oh i agree. TJ isn't the best at it either. sawyer may be the best of the bunch at that. price per tackle is outrageous by two of those guys. that's what you have to weigh if the switch goes to more money towards the offense. i just have this vrabel vibe going on if we let him walk away. one is 24 and one is 28. they can't get rid of TJ with the money they just paid him. they never should have paid that much to him. JMHO.

Let's use last year for example, we played the NFC north , and most people thought we wouldn't win any of those games, and if we did it would be against Packers, and Bears, and not the Lions, and the Vikings. Yet it was the Lions, and Vikings we beat, and lost to the Packers, and the Bears.

Nope. Their entire starting OL are all FAs. Could get even uglier in Cleveland. Teller played on the right, and I don't know if he or MM can play the left, but Teller is a damn good Guard and we need one.

Again. A actual coaching tree should only count for the ones that actually work, not just because some dumb owners, and GMs hired them.
It's funny people laugh all the time about the stupid stuff owners, and GMs do, but when it supports their claim (like PFF) they grab on to it.
Also Bruce Arians is as much a Tomlin coaching tree as some people like to say are other HCs. Most of these so called branches didn't even start with the HCs that get credit for them.

 

Arians was hired by Cowher and promoted to OC by Tomlin since Whisenhunt left to be head coach for Cardinals.

 

He was hired by someone else before that. If you would bother to read my whole argument, you would see that's the point I'm trying to make. Most of the so called HCs trees , didn't start with them.
Example: The OC from McVay, Mike Lafleur that everyone is going on about didn't start with McVay, he started with the Browns, and then the Falcons, but people want to give McVay credit for it. Like You. LoL. So if guys like Lafleur are from a McVay coaching tree, then Arians is from Tomlin coaching tree. It the exact same thing. You people need to do more research instead of just listening to talking heads.

I respect what Mike Tomlin did and Mike Tomlin the head coach, but I do think his choice of assistant coaches ultimately caught up to him.

 

McVey was an upgrade from Fisher. The proof is in the pudding. Fisher made it to a Super Bowl with Titans. McVey won a Super Bowl by succeeding Fisher. Rams held on to Fisher too long... like Steelers held on to Tomlin for too long. Rams had the balls to move on... Steelers did not. It remains to be seen if McCarthy is an upgrade over Tomlin.
