Agree. I like the 5 years to play 4 seasons approach. Get redshirted or injured and you get another year. Heck, maybe even let someone who played all 4 years get a 5th year to make some more money but then you gotta go. This BS about junior college not counting cause it isn't NCAA needs to stop. It's still college and should count against the max eligibility. Right now Joey Aguilar is trying to get his 8th season in college. Ridiculous.

All these athletes are in college as long as doctors now.

I get that college football is technically a "pro sport" while players are getting paid, but there's no reason why someone who will be 25 years old before a college season starts should be granted eligibility. Personally, I think if you turn 24 before a season starts, you should be denied eligibility. I'd be fine waiving this clause if an athlete played a different professional sport and didn't go to college at all (like Chris Weinke did, or how JR Smith played college golf) but I'm not sure I give them all 4 years of eligibility. Maybe though. Idk.

Yeah, he was a pro baseball player before and never went to college. Did pretty well for himself at QB

I certainly hope the Steelers brain trust will be evaluating this young man and interview him
and due their due diligence. He played this season and playoff games at a high level. I would certainly welcome him
to compete with our other QB's on the current roster.

He's too small. I'm cool if you're drafting him in the middle rounds, like they did with Howard, with the intent to make him a back up type guy.

Howard was a better prospect in my eyes than Chambliss. Here's a screen grab I found. This is Trinidad(left) standing next to Cayden Lee, who is listed at 5'11/175. Hard to tell, both have their head down a bit.

Maybe I didn't explain my intentions well enough for drafting of him, I am not interested in acquiring him with the 21 first pick, but I am interested in him with a possible late 2nd round
    or 3rd rd pick.

Yep a state judge just ruled that Chambliss can return to Ole Miss next year for his 6th year in college. The 2026 QB draft class just got even weaker. There must be around 8 QB's who were considered first or second round picks this year that decided to stay in college. The NIL money is just too much to pass up.

Chambliss in my opinion, has a higher ceiling than Howard.
In fact, a few draft experts, possibly had Chambliss going in first round this draft if he came out

well this year was supposed to be so much better than last year for a QB, that didn't turn out to be. he will be one of those top QB's next year. i'm glad we got howard in the 6th last year and believe it will be a good pick. we will be two years in with our before next years crop even hits the NFL.

The reason that this year's QB draft class wasn't what everyone thought it would be is because over a half dozen QB's who were eligible to come out decided to stay in college. They don't have a choice next year as they will be out of eligibility. The 2027 draft could have as much as 10 QB's go in the first 2 rounds.
