Would be nice. But I'm guessing there will be no new stadium in the next 20 years unless some uber-rich new owner swoops in.

What Randy Newman said about the "new" stadium design: "I Love LA!" :guitarplayer:

They can improve Acrisure stadium starting with a new football field! It is a hot mess.

Other things in the works are:

Recent and Ongoing Improvements (2025–2026 Focus)
    • Major Seat Replacement Project: The Steelers are replacing nearly all the stadium's seats (originally from when it opened in 2001 as Heinz Field). Plans call for updating 58,719 out of 68,400 seats by 2028, at a total cost of about $17.8 million. The first phase (approved in late 2025) installs 22,236 new seats over the next couple of years, addressing seats that were in poor condition.

    • Wi-Fi Overhaul: A complete upgrade with over 1,300 new access points for faster speeds, better coverage, and lower latency—great for fans posting on social media or using the app during games.

    • New Videoboards and Displays: A new marquee videoboard along Art Rooney Avenue (east side) for better visibility and fan engagement outside the stadium. Additional enhancements to replay system
    • s and audio.

    • Outdoor Additions: A 44 x 25-yard synthetic football field installed near Gate A Lawn (completed for 2025 season use and Draft prep). Also, artificial turf replacing part of the South Lawn for youth activities and events.

    • Other Fan Experience Upgrades: Expanded concessions (including self-checkout markets), new charging stations, security enhancements (like bollards), updated mobile app with virtual assistant, and preparations like a new premium lounge (1933 Club) planned for 2026 honoring the team's founding year.
These are largely tied to prepping for the 2026 NFL Draft (April 23–25, 2026) and general modernization, with investments around $8.6 million+ in tech and fan-focused changes.Potential Future or Suggested ImprovementsWhile no massive full rebuild is confirmed (some fan discussions speculate about a new stadium or $800M+ overhaul, but current focus is on targeted upgrades), common fan suggestions from discussions (e.g., Reddit, forums) include:
    • Better/more affordable concession prices and options (especially for food sensitivities).

    • Improved jumbotrons or additional screens for better sightlines.

    • Removing or rethinking cup holders in some sections.

    • More premium/intimate seating or "rightsizing" upper levels (e.g., tarping sections to create a more packed-in atmosphere).

    • Keeping/upgrading the iconic views (rivers, bridges, skyline) while adding modern amenities like more tech integration or entertainment districts.
And the important topic upgrading the women bathrooms :) 40 % of the fans in the NFL are female.

You all do understand that these billionaire owners are always looking for a handout of taxpayer dollars when constructing
these new stadiums. The Rooney's and Allegheny county will make necessary improvements to Acrisure Stadium it still has a
    a 20 year life span.

    Nice cut and paste

I applaud you for trying to be accurate and honest

I will point out one thing you missed they put in a new turf field every year

The problem is the extra work it gets from college and high school in November

It needs go to back to Heinz Field as well. How is Acrisure able to out-bid Heinz? You can't tell me that Heinz is unable to afford $10M per year.

I don't live in Pennsylvania or Pittsburgh.

You guys can waste your tax dollars however you like. If that quote is real, it's certainly made with the understanding that they are going to try to milk the tax payers into subsidizing the plaything of a billionaire.

"It isn't just about football..." so it's totally cool if we take tax money to build it!

Personally, I wouldn't be a fan of subsidizing a new stadium.

Yeah. But why don't they care? $10M/year is peanuts for them to keep their name associated with a Stadium.

Is that all it’s costing Acrisure? Wow! Get ready for Steel Elvis Field after the current naming rights contract expires!
