You don't know if that's true Tomlin admitted he likes to throw off the media during the draft process.

Correct, I don't know if Tomlin was actually liking Malik, and Art was wanting Kenny is 100% fact, or just what the situation looked like to me.

AND, I can't wait for the Steelers to sign Trey Lance, just to say "I Told you So", so you will stop replying to all my Trey Lance comments with "Disagree". :)

All HCs are going to play to win. Some on here don't get that. They don't realize that losing looks bad on them, and their staff, and not everyone on their staff is raking in millions, and they are responsible for them. Too many people think this is Madden, and people's life's, jobs, and families aren't at risk.
This is why I laugh so hard at the ......we should lose more games, and go 4-13 more. LoL

I think the Steelers either go with Rodgers or they bring in another veteran type guy. I just dont see Mcarthy taking the job and going with Will Howard or drafting another project.

It was likely a smokescreen Pickett was considered the most pro ready QB in that weak draft.

There is a lot to agree about in what You wrote. Plus the injuries don't heal the same, or at the same speed.

OK since we have gotten rid of the coaching staff that can't advance players for the most part, now we have a coach and staff that seem like they can, can they make something more out of mason rudolph? could our guys be sitting right under our noses? the titans were a mess. our staff prior stunk. could this be the jump start for howard and mason and whomever? all the he was a late rounder and will never make it folks out there, mason was 3 rounds higher.

Let's not forget that this same HC had a HOF QB, and only got to one SB. One.
I hope that the change is better for everyone, and it will mean more SBs for us, but I'm only going by history.

I think we'll have Rodgers next year, like it or not. Having said that, I think it is a good thing (regarding the QB position) that Howard will have another year under AR and a full year with MM. This time next year they will know if Will is the man or they go QB in 27 draft. This will allow them to stock the receiver room this year. Also, another year of our young O-line coming together hopefully with a high pick this year. Then Will or a 27 drafted QB will have a much better opportunity for success in 27. Build depth this year and hope AR stays healthy and Will takes a big step forward. If AR comes back, I think this is our best hope for long term success , maybe delayed a year. I would love to see WH throwing to Metcalf, Boston and Malachi Fields in '27. Or just maybe '26.....

I don't think you can make something out of Rudolph other than what he already is, which is at best a decent backup. With Howard there's that unknown factor, maybe he can be a good starting NFL QB, maybe he can't. I'd much rather see what Howard can do, but with Rodgers coming back, and Rodolph more than likely being their #2 again, I just wonder if Howard will ever get a chance? I hope he does at some point.

you think from canada, smith, tomlin to mccarthy and this staff they can't improve an already pretty good QB in rudolph? that is a huge jump in coaching. not sure why he would have to stay as is. i do want howard to get a shot but he kind of had a lost year last year on IR for most of the season. sure he got mental reps but that is different when large men are all around you in practice and games. i think we had too many years of being used to what was and hope there is a big what can be moment under these coaches. not just the head guy. i believe we will see a night and day difference in preparedness. we shall see.

Not unlike Tomlin did with Cowher's team. But you still have to give him some credit. That defense was nasty. And he was calling the defense.

Pete Carrolls championship Seahawks team was 11 years ago. None of those guys were even around for this SB. Terrible comparison with MT and Cowher. I assume you are just being a smart ass.

You're kidding with the Darnold comparisin, right?

Darnold was 27, not 40 or 42, coming off a 14-2 season with over 4300 yds passing with the Vikings. Explain to me how that is anyway analogous to Rodgers or Flacco.

I'm saying we don't know how players will perform under this coaching. We expect Howard to get better, why not rudolph too? We know how far he came under MT's guidence , shouldn't we expect more? That's why so many wanted tomlin gone.

There is no one significantly better than Rudolph in the free agent retread qb market. Sam Darnold wouldn’t have performed any better than Rodgers or Rudolph with the OL and lack of wide receivers we had. The game plan of not using the middle doesn’t help either. It’s a risk reward thing using the middle of the field. Sure you will throw interceptions, but you will score more points. Tomlin with his philosophy handcuffed his young qb’s ,?both Pickett and Rudolph that it stunted their growth. Tomlin always lived in his fears. We would be much better off signing a legit wide receiver and an OL and keep trying to get a franchise qb through draft.
