Putting together some decent win streaks this year. New Coach? New players? New Ownership? Bad teams in their Division? Still hard to keep up with Carolina though.

 

Pens have 30 games to go. Pre-season predictions from the experts had Pens missing Playoffs for 4th straight year. Total point prediction was mid to high 70's.

At the moment Pens have 65 points and are in second place in the Met. Division. Have to stay away from the injury bug.

I like the grit the Pens show, will it hold up in Playoffs??? (assuming we make it*)

* Nephew put a grand on them to just make Playoffs. 6500 payout if it happens.

 

Old guys still scoring, 18 year old surprising, FA contributing, and successful trades. Report that they tailor coaching to player rather than have players conform to the system. Next steps are to get some of the young guys ready for NHL.

 

Pens on ABC Saturday at 3:30 against NYR.

 

Well we must wait for the exciting 5-0 game on right now. I would not mind if we bored NHL fans across the country with a 5-0 win.

Whoa nelly. Pens got real sloppy. Ended up winning 6-5.

Finally picked up a point on Hurricanes.

 

They have been kicking ass right along with us.

 

Pens have 3 games before a long break. I am glad about the break. Give the older guys a nice rest before a final push.

Pens have Ottawa at home tonight. Then we have to go to NYI and Buffalo for last 2 games before break. I'd be thrilled 2-1.

On TNT Tuesday Night on the Island.

 

Another OT loss. Sure hope they win last game before break.

 

4-0-12 in OT could be costly later, especially with a bunch being blown leads.

No idea what Kulak is doing out there in OT. For that matter why he is getting consistent play.

 

Pens won against a hot Sabres team 5-2 with 4 goals by the rookies. Secured 2nd place through the Olympic break. Get that PP back on track and finish the season strong!

 

Really cool to see the young guy, Avery Hayes come in and get two goals in his debut. Was concerned going in with the recent struggles and extra injury to Rackell, illness to Accari, and Lizotte out having a baby.

 

Headed into break Pens are 29-15-12. If we could have cut that 12 in half we'd be right with Hurricanes. 56 games played. 70 total points. Kicking the talking heads predictions in the ass.

26 games to go. I believe the 3 top teams from each of the 4 division get in the Playoffs and a few Wildcards. We are #2 in the Met going into long ass break. I think 4 Pens are playing for their Country. Damn Sid won't be resting. Silovs will be playing for Latvia, wherever the hell that Country is.

Great mix of young and old making this season one of my favorites. I was ready for a crap season of old men and youngsters not ready.

March they will be tested. Lot of games with little rest in between. Lot of travel and a tough stretch in middle of the month. Be interesting seeing how we do against Colorado in Denver.

Goaltending has me worried. Watch Silovs lead Latvia to the gold.
