Renegade was great when the Defense was great. It fires up the fans and at least used to stir adrenalin in the players. But the defense hasn't been great in a long time and now, every time they play Renegade, you can almost count on a long-drive score by the opposing team. I'd like to see stats on that. Maybe it's just in my head? But I swear that every time I've paid attention to it, Renegade leads to a score by the opposing team. I find myself holding my breath now when they play the song. It's like the defense gets stiff trying to live up to the expectations.

I'm hoping regime change starts putting better product on the field. The song is really irrelevant.

Enter Sandman makes Virginia Tech Lane Stadium go absolutely nuts at the start of their home games. JMO>

I know. I just don't like the damn song. It's been done to death. I was sick of it by 1996... and it was released in '91.

How about "Hells Bells"? It worked for Trevor Hoffman.

Renegade is fine. No need to change it. Just don't play it when we're down three scores. Be a little more selective and don't feel like it has to be played.

Not a Yankees fan, but Enter Sandman was the perfect song for when Rivera would come in to close out a game.

Renegade came in at the end of the dynasty.

They started playing it when the next dynasty should have started. But it never happened.

    Maybe it's a jinx.

Creeping Death is the only wise choice, and as a guy that has played in a band forever, I've played all these song, and nothing is wrong with the song Renegade.
Also I have never liked Enter Sandman, it's Metallicas worst song.

Styx reminds me of the jukebox at the local pool in 1980 and '81. Styx, Little River Band and REO Speedwagon. There was also this weird band with a song called, "Another Brick in the Wall" with a large group of British kids chanting in the chorus.... "We don't need no Education...."

As long as it's not ACDC , and their beat you over the head with the song title 500 times a song, I'm good.
People say that's stupid, but just go, and listen to any ACDC song, and count how many times they say the title of the song. Yes I get it......You're Back in Black, I got it the first 20 times you said it , I didn'tneed 30 more. I don't hate anything, but I really dislike that band, and freaking hated playing their songs when I play out.

I'm more partial to 70's AC/DC than 80's and beyond. Bon Scott era was awesome, IMO. Like a few of their 80's songs... For Those About to Rock, Who Made Who, Sink the Pink, Heatseeker. Many of their 80's songs have been done to death like Sandman.

Only song I have ever liked by ACDC is RockNRoll Ain't Noise Pollution. That's all.

I wonder what kind of crew they have at the stadium that's in charge of music and entertainment? Maybe it's time for regime change there too!

    I Think Creeping Death.
Have You ever been to a Metallica concert back in the day(Hell they may still do it now:shrug:) when they would do it live, and get the audience to do it with them?? I remember in the 80s seeing them, and getting goosebumps during it.

Agreed, but the difference is they do that on certain songs. ACDC does it on every single song. 83% of every ACDC song is a constant repeat of whatever the songs title is called.

Seems like 100% of Police songs do that too. Can't stand them OR Sting!

When they started playing it every game it kind of lost its meaning and appeal IMO. Especially when you hear that opposing teams are preparing for it now. It seems that several have used it as an excuse to hype up their own team. The jig is up, if you will...

I saw Metallica in '96 with Corrosion of Conformity opening up. Good show.

My cousin saw Metallica during the Justice tour with Queensryche opening up in Norfolk, VA in 1989. 2 of my favorite all time albums were featured.... Operation Mindcrime and .... And Justice For All (even though can't hear the bass on the studio album).
