I was a young QB while Frank Sr was on staff with Bobby Bowden. My career ended very quick due to knees.
Curt was a QB a couple years later there. I had said all summer, I recognize that guy..
Frank Jr I did not know except for dealings around the NFL. All have spoken well of him.

After watching the fossil of AR last year why wouldn’t we want him back a year older.

All joking aside AR was decent overall but bad against good teams and he can’t move or avoid a good pass rush. Why are we doing this???

If it happens my guess is he feels it’s better to work with guys for a season before starting them.

Aaron would be a bridge but that doesnt give fans much hope for the 2026 season, just with what lies ahead.

Most of us were prepared for a down year if they went with a new young HC and didnt go well his first season, so I look at it like that but from a QB development angle.

But maybe Arod doesnt come back, 43 years old, you know there were times last year getting his ass kicked he had to be thinking why am I doing this to myself.

I agree, and I'm not worried he can't move, I'm more worried he is scared of getting hit. You can't play the Qb position the best you can that way.

    Pittsburgh Steelers: Mike McCarthy
McCarthy has a track record. He has won 60.8% of his regular-season games over 18 seasons and has a Super Bowl. But there have been plenty of playoff disappointments since that Super Bowl that have given McCarthy the reputation of a coach who has one title many years ago and can get you to the playoffs but not go on long postseason runs anymore, which is exactly what the Steelers just moved on from in Mike Tomlin. McCarthy was born and raised in the Pittsburgh area and maybe that was a draw, but it's also an unusual reason to hire a head coach. Perhaps hiring McCarthy leads to Aaron Rodgers coming back for another season, but is that much of a draw anymore? The hire is fine but it's not going to lead to much excitement or the belief that the Steelers found another coach who will be on the job 20 years.

I thought they were keeping Gerald Alexander as defensive backs coach and added simmons.

Green Bay and Pittsburgh were similar organizations not long ago.
Neither really made splashes in Free Agency and preferred to build through the draft.

While McCarthy was there, it was top notch organization. Ted Thompson was a pretty decent GM.

I'm already sick to death of hearing the crony BS he's hiring. That's what you do when you are in charge,
And of course you seek the best to the best, but those guys are limited. It will take a couple years to adjust your staff.
In the meantime, you want to win.

More times than not, an unproven coach will drop you to 4-13 seasons.
    There are exceptions.
To be honest, even proven coaches can drop you to 4-13 seasons.

Bill Belichick should give thanks every day that nearly every piece fell into place for him, a perfect storm. That's just not going to happen and exactly why the voters of the HoF are feckless jokes.

You have to all wheels turning in the system.
    - A good coach that knows the talents of his team.
    - A good QB that the system works for.
    - A good core of skill players, they may change but the ability to maintain it.
    - A Good GM that can get those impact players for you and has good scouts to find those hidden gems.
    - A good system that players buy into.
    - An owner who demands excellence and is willing to take some risks.

We don't even have a QB or WR's.
    Yet.

    • McCarthy is 6-9 in the postseason since his last SB.
    • Since his last SB John Harbaugh is 4-7 in the postseason and he gets an "A+"

    Help it make sense....

    It is possible...
But I think the "Mike Tomlin controls the franchise" is gone....
I think the spotlight will be very clear where the issues really are.
You know who my first option is.

“We have named James Campen offensive line coach, Jahri Evans assistant offensive line coach, Ramon Chinyoung Sr. running backs coach, Adam Henry wide receivers coach, and Tom Arth quarterbacks coach.”

I'm all good with Rodgers coming back for one more, if it's for the benefit of Will Howard. Not a fan of coaching re-treads but, can't be any worse than the stellar staff Tomlin maintained the last decade. The packers always had a decent secondary it seemed during McCarthy's tenure. Should be a fun season to watch, I'm stoked.

Agreed, if in this era of don't breathe on the QB wrong you are hearing footsteps then its time to hang em up. If this goes horribly wrong then we get a high draft pick. I just hope this group is going to grind like a great coaching staff has in order for the team to excel in all phases of the game!!

Vikes lured him away. Guess he wanted to coach with Flores.
