Schwartz is a great DC but he is also not a fit for what the steelers want to run....Schwartz is a 4-3 guy

Have to start making moves to hurt Division opponents.
They, especially Ravens, have built their teams to beat the once mighty Steelers.

Need that 5 Division wins again.

Our next DC has to stop Burrow and Co. I'm not all that worried about stopping the Ravens or Browns offense. We have been doing that on the regular. Teams with good WRs are the ones that give us the most trouble typically.

I'm not going to get into the naming of names part though. I'm not all that familiar outside of the usual list.

That would be a good get for the Raiders the Steelers should've waited to interview Kubiak.

It's hard to believe that he didn't get stronger interest from just about everybody.

I think some of these teams didn't want to wait this long to make a hire.

You're not wrong, but it's just another sign that NFL owners are absolutely awful at the actual running of their teams. It's a wonder any of them are ever any good.

You have to consider that top coordinators and assistants are getting snapped up while they are waiting on the HC. It's not always all about the HC.

What top coordinators have been snapped up?

All I've seen is coaches hiring their friends. All these "hot shot" sub coordinator guys that were supposed to get skipped right to head coach aren't even getting coordinator jobs.

Apparently they aren't as hot shot as the media made them out to be.

    Agreed
I was just going to write this. The longer you wait on getting the HC, the less chances you have at getting good coordinators, and other coaching positions.

It's like people saying what Qbs are going to be drafted that year in the 1st round before they even play a game that year in college. It's all wishes, and guessing.

Tolzien has the inside track for OC and has a lot of glowing reports about him so if thats the direction they go, fine.

I know new HC’s stick to what they know when building a staff but really wish they’d bring Sheelhaase in for an interview. By all accounts they were impressed with him for their virtual interview. McCarthy said he spent his year away studying new trends in the NFL, who better to help you bring new ideas into your WCO than a guy who helps run a more modern WCO.

Seems like a missed opportunity to me.

One of McVay's guys gets a HC job this cycle, have to think Scheelhaase moves up to OC for the Rams.

Kubiak will have a good young nucleus to build his offense around with Mendoza, Jeanty and Bowers.
