I don't think Polian really cares all that much. It is done and over and he is still swimming in his Scrooge McDuck money pile and snorting who knows what...

Again, I sense the hand of Robert Kraft who doesn't want to share any spotlight with Belichick. That relationship was burned to ash. A bunch of voters followed his lead and were influenced by that campaign.

    Never underestimate human pettiness.

Bill B and Big Ben should be in the Hall of Fame on the first try. Some people think Ben is a rapist, so it wouldn't surprise if he has a difficult time getting in. AB is a nutjob and his antics should never be rewarded so he might be permanently blocked from entering the HOF.

I'm honestly disgusted that Hines Ward is getting screwed from the HOF.

Those two gates were inside of the nfl play. It effected the outcome of games. They cheated ... so, this is different from what happened with Ben off the field.

It just seems odd that the owner of a team that cheated would be lobbying for voters to keep out people that cheated. Particularly the coach of his own team that is voting to put Kraft in largely based on the results of the cheating by his head coach.

I'm not saying that everything is great with Kraft and Belichick. I'm just saying that Kraft would basically be arguing for himself not to be voted into the Hall of Fame for his role in cheating. The other owners were furious when Kraft got cooperation from the NFL to destroy the evidence to help protect the integrity of the league.

I don't think there's much of a conspiracy at all.. i don't know why nobody seems to be pointing out the elephant in the room.. Most of the hall of fame voters are pencil necks from the media.. belichick wasn't exactly a media darling and basically acted like every interview and press conference was a waste of his time. It's not hard to imagine a bunch of these men and women remaining salty about it all and now is their chance to get back at Bill. It wouldn't be the first time specific players don't get voted on solely because voters don't personally like said player.

Kraft, Polian, Jones, and most of these owners are oddballs. The motive is simple: Kraft wants more credit for the Patriots dynasty than Belichick and wants in the HoF first, and now despises him. He tossed Belichick out; there are hard feelings between the two men.

Kraft negotiates a lot of the media rights; he is making the other owners' money, and they aren't still mad about something that happened years ago.

It is the same dynamic that led Jerry Jones to be petty, jealous and to keep Jimmy Johnson out of the Ring of Honor in Dallas for a long time. Jones has always been stung by Johnson getting credit and refuses to allow any coach to have power.

Polian did Kraft a favor with that hit piece, and all the voters want to keep in the good graces of the owners. These billionaire owners have HUGE egos.

This whole thing is not right, but life is not always fair.

I don't think it comes back to Ben, but I think if they leave out Belichick in the 1st ballot, that means they could leave out anyone , for anything no matter the numbers they have.

I think Hines Ward does ,but not James Harrison. While great when he actually started, his football career was very short.

I'm not so sure AB was better than Ward. The numbers may show that he is, but he never had to play whole seasons without Ben. Ward played with some not so great Qbs during his career.

Did you guys see the other coaches that were not first ballot, Joe Gibbs, Bill Walsh, Jimmy Johnson, Bill Parcells, Hank Stram, John Madden, and Paul Brown which is crazy when you think about it? At retirement Ben's stat were as follows, not sure why he wouldn't be first ballot but the allegations could be the proverbial wait one year. There is a cache for first ballot guys.

    • Passing Yards: 64,088 (5th in NFL history)
    • Passing Touchdowns: 418 (8th in NFL history)
    • Completions: 5,440 (5th in NFL history)
    • Winning Percentage: .710 (4th highest for a QB with 100+ starts)
    • 500-Yard Passing Games: 4 (NFL record)
    • Wins: 165 (5th most by a QB)

I totally believe Ben should be 1st ballot HOF, but I'm saying if You can not take Bill Belichick in 1st ballot, You can leave off anyone.
Also the only coach I believe that you name that should have been 1st ballot was Gibbs, and Walsh.
