I don't necessarily disagree. But what perspective or feelings an owner should or should not have wasn't really my point.

My thought is that I have read on here and several other Steelers related spots, that it was Tomlin's "fault" for not "rebuilding" or employing strategies that won ugly games with a funky roster. I am starting to suspect that is more of Tomlin finding his path to fulfilling a mandate from ownership rather than Tomlin refusing to rebuild or not wanting young(er) players etc.

 

Let us not continue to act as if NFL "reporters" and "insiders" are hardened gumshoe reporters from some detective thriller.

These guys and gals are just mouthpieces for whoever feeds them information. All these "leaks" have an ulterior motive. No one is uncovering the "truth" it is agents and others trying to spin things for their guy(s).

 

Well, yes. And I have discovered it almost always comes down to 'Tomlin' for so many fans. From how much the defensive side is making compared to the offensive side, and where that ranks with other teams, to saying he's a lousy coach but if he could be worse we could get better draft picks. As fans, we are all a bit insane. It's the singular narrow view that every decision is wrong unless it perfectly aligns with a personal opinion that I get most frustrated with. Those are the ones that just closes all discussion.

 

And fits with how he quit. Like he was just done and his hands were tied and said I'm out.
