We don't know a damn thing. The weather played a far bigger part in that game than either of the QB's would have. There wasn't going to be much offensive output from either team that game, no matter what.
But us Steelers fans really shouldn't say a word about the Pats. We got stomped by a team that the Pats easily handled.
We really have no business telling another team they don't deserve to be in the SB, when we didn't even deserve to be in the playoffs and our entire team failed to even show up for the game. That was an embarrassment.

I'm just having some fun with it, but I do believe Nix would've scored more than 7 points. Also Nix probably doesn't make that bonehead fumble Stidham had to give New England their only TD of the game.

Who knows, who cares. The butterfly effect...if you change one thing, everything else potentially changes. If Denver has a lead, NE plays differently. Maybe they are more aggressive and score more points. Maybe they are more aggressive and turn the ball over and lose. Who knows.

This is what I know that nobody can dispute. You can only play the teams you're scheduled to play.
In 2008, the Titans were a force. They beat us easily in the regular season. If Chris Johnson doesn't get hurt, do they beat the Ravens? If they do, do they beat us? Does it matter? We won the SB.
In 2010, the Jets did us a huge favour, knocking off 2 very good teams. Could we have beat either one of them? Who knows, who cares. We got to the SB.

There's so much unknown. All you can do is beat the team in front of you. So far the Pats have done that. Don't be surprised if they give Seattle problems. It's going to end up being a competitive game.

Rookies could not understand Lebeau’s defense

In this age of FA you need to get rookies on to the field so you have no choice but to dumb down the defense

You know, I may not agree with on a lot of things - but, in this case, I think you're basically 100% correct. Nix's freak injury is the only reason, imo, that the Pats are in the SB and they were beyond lucky that it happened when it did. Yes, luck is always a factor in football, but it was a hugely outsized factor in NE's case. But luck can only get one so far, and can run out quickly. I hope they get properly curb stomped.

That’s just not true. You completely expose the defense if you dumb it down. What’s the point of getting rookies on the field and severely compromising the defense as a result. Listen to the James Harrison pod cast. He said it totally changed the defense by stripping stuff out.

People forget how they b!+ched , and complained about My Man Lebeau Defense being too complicated, and exact words from that time.....why can't we run a more simple D like the Seahawks do so we can get rookies, and 2nd year players starting.
Of course now all those that complained, and said that will say...........
It wasn't me, and I never said that. LoL

You always pick the side of the argument to fit your narrative. Lebeaus defenses were great defenses. They were renowned around the league. The stripped down version was indeed simple and opposing offenses stated that many many times. We have a chance to bring Schwartz in and we’re not even considering him. It’s rediculous the guy had fantastic defenses up in Cleveland. We sign a depreciating player in Watt for 41 million a year and we’re gonna settle for Graham from the Raiders because the Raiders have been world beaters on defense. I don’t understand it.

Maybe Seattle can intercept a dumba$$ pass at the goal line to win it this time around.

That TJ contract was awful. How do these teams have no foresight?

The issue is Sam Darnold can be Sam Darnold at anytime and then anything can happen.

SDOT has been volunteering to be GM for years. Somehow I feel we would be in a better position. The man is rarely wrong. I think he said he would accept payment in the form of Primanti Samiches
