He was with the saints for 16 years,so he had a great run but it was the time for him....And remember the Broncos were a true dumpster fire when he take the job in 2023 so this is not like he take the easy job!

You don't want Rudolph as the starter for the whole season; he's a backup for a reason. They scored a defensive TD against Chicago and that was a winnable game, but Rudolph failed to get them in scoring position on the final drive.

But Simpson will likely be gone before the Steelers pick and he's not worthy of trading up for.

None. He had no GM powers in Green Bay or Dallas.

In all seriousness...he took over Green Bay in 2006. He coached Rodgers for 2 years before Aaron took over as the starter. You don't think he had anything to do with prepping him to take over for Favre?

Why would he ever need to draft a QB if you have Rodgers and Dak?

His lack of drafting a QB was more about the circumstances of the team rosters than his ability to coach QB's.

Listening to these talking heads is like being stuck in an elevator with a guy who drops a fart bomb, shocking headlines, no substance, and you're left holding your breath until it’s over.

He WAS considered a retread.... he was just considered a much better offensive mind (and one on the cutting edge of football) than McCarthy. He's also credited with turning Brees into one of the best ever by making the system work for him (despite Brees just being okay in San Diego). That was a true case of development and scheme fit, while some can argue that McCarthy had less of a stake in developing Rodgers as he says he did simply because Rodgers was an elite talent coming out of the draft and could have succeeded in almost any situation.

I'm not saying its impossible for McCarthy to have a rebirth with a new franchise QB, but I don't think anyone believes that McCarthy is the offensive mind of Sean Payton. Same goes for another retread in Andy Reid that obviously worked quite well. It all boils down to the QB development for me. If McCarthy develops a QB and wins games, then its a success. If we bounce around vet starters and win games... its kinda a disaster for me because its Tomlin all over again. If he manages not to develop a QB, then its also a disaster. We will see how he does with the young QB's and which one he decides to tie his time in Pittsburgh to.

Maybe... Maybe not. I don't know about his worthiness of trading up for or not... If you don't pick in the top 12, you're likely to have to trade up for a QB anyways. You just have to make sure you're right.

Technically I don't think Mendoza is worth trading up for because he's not one of the top 21 prospects in the draft to me, but lots of people think he is.. QB is a premium. You gotta pay the price if you want to play with the QB needy teams as a team drafting in the 20's. My personal preference is not to draft a round 1 QB this year, as I like next year's available options significantly better. I have Sayin, Moore, and Manning rated significantly higher than I do Mendoza. I have Simpson rated about the same as Mendoza.

Mendoza proved he was better than Sayin in their head to head matchup, Sayin had better talent all around him and he still struggled.

Head to head doesn't mean anything at all in a team game when it comes to NFL prospect rankings. Also Sayin's stats in that game were better than Mendoza. I don't think that game showcased Mendoza as a better prospect than Sayin? Joe Burrow lost head to head in college to Tua, Kellen Mond, and Feleipe Franks... are those guys better NFL players than Burrow?

    Sayin - 21/29 (72%) for 251yds 1TD/1INT
    Mendoza - 15/23 (65%) for 222yds 1TD/1INT

Oh please, Sayin put up stats playing an easy conference schedule when he had to play Indiana and Miami he struggled.

Those were the stats from the game they played against each other. You said he struggled in that game and it proved that Mendoza is better. This just shows that is just factually incorrect. He didn't play great against Miami (as his OL got dominated) but he still threw for 287 yards and a TD on 63% completion... though he did throw 2 of his 8 total season picks in that game. Sayin is a really good prospect. He has NFL ability who's ceiling is much higher than Mendoza's. He still lacks the improv skills that Mendoza does, but he is FAR better in pocket management and has a good bit better arm talent while still being elite with ball placement and accuracy.

Again, it's all about projection to the NFL. I'm no scout... I'm just a fan that watches way too much football for my wife's liking lol I'm just saying that if Mendoza was up against the class for next year (at this very moment in time) I would have all three of Sayin, Moore, and Manning rated significantly higher as potential NFL prospects than Mendoza. That doesn't mean the kid sucks or can't be good... I just think the chances that the other three become really good NFL players are a lot higher than Mendoza's chance. Just a personal opinion based off watching the games.

OSU has a really good schedule next year, they play @Texas, @IU, @USC, and @Iowa and play Oregon and Michigan at home. I'm sure we will get a pretty good look at Julian Sayin next season too.

No team will consider taking Sayin number one overall any QB will look good throwing to Smith and Tate.

I guess we will find out lol He's going to enter the year as the highest rated prospect on the draft in all likelihood. He's just going to have to turn in a good season. If he outperforms his 2025, I think there's little doubt he will be a top 5 pick, if not the top pick in the draft.
