I can't imagine that it will. I get that they lost, but the Seahawks are really good at home and it was a road championship game. If he's smart its Bills or back to the Rams. I cant see any of the remaining jobs being worth his time. The Rams will be contenders again next year.

That’s why Im thinking he goes back to the Rams. They will be in the hunt again next year. Wait for a better landing spot.

Klint Kubiak should get a HC offer for that final drive alone. Master class

Well....that was an interesting championship weekend....

Shula's defense looked less than revolutionary. Seemed that JSN was simply physically more talented than anyone the Rams could put on him. But how to explain all the missed tackles up front in the run game....I thought only Mike Tomlin coached his team to do that...

His defense was a lot better than Tomlin's despite having some of the least amount of money spent on it. At $48 million bucks, you're not going to have a top 5 defense no matter what you do schematically. Plus... we wouldn't have been hiring him to be the DC. He would've been the HC, responsible for a lot more than just updating the defense schematically and calling some plays. Brian Flores' defense was considered top 5 and it gave up 13 less points than Shula's did (and turned the opposition over less). Essentially, who cares if a really good offensive team scored 30 on them in a home playoff game. If the Rams score a TD in the red zone instead of turning it over on downs, that game at least goes to OT. They played well enough to win that game.

Sir, I believe you have not met the Steelers internet evaluation standard previously.

Any Steelers defense should only ever allow a hundred total yards or less. Hold the other team to 10 points or less. Preferably negative points. Using that standard on the Rams last night, everyone should be fired, cut, or traded.

    I get it lol

All I am saying is that people need to be honest in evaluations. The Rams spend money to score a ton of points. They can't have the top offense AND top defense. Their team is built to score points and get just enough defense (or a few turnovers) from their defense to win the game. Sitting there and asking $48 million bucks of payroll to go out and dominate a really good team on their home field in the NFCCG is wild. Absolutely ridiculous lmao Anyone claiming that Shula sucks because his defense didn't win them the game shouldn't be taken seriously

At least he didn't call it "historic"... and reality is Rams passing defense was bottom half of the league this season and it looked it.

The Rams and Steelers pass defenses were fairly close statistically. In fact, the two defenses are not separated by much just statistically.

It is interesting how little separates teams in the NFL.

You watched that whole game and that's what you got out of it? You only focused on that one point when there are so many other things to consider from that game that the Steelers and some of their fans can learn from.

The Seahawks have one of the best defenses in the NFL. Maybe the best. The Rams carved them up in the NFC Championship game.

Shula is a young leader, and as head coach he would be bringing the same innovative offense and maybe a young offensive mind as OC that carved up one of the best defenses in the NFL.

The Seahawks took a chance and signed a relatively young free agent quarterback in Sam Darnold. A quarterback that could possibly have been acquired by the Steelers if they really wanted him. Another miss by the Steelers who decided to go with the 42-year-old QB with no future and who's performance will only decline as time passes. It also just delays moving forward with a new quarterback and offense for another season.

The Seahawks have a mercurial wide receiver in JSN on a rookie deal, surrounded by a few good veteran receivers that know their roles and block like crazy. They center their entire attack on finding ways to get him open and get him the ball with unique formations, motions, and using him out of the backfield. Whatever it takes to get him the ball. It sure sounds like something that was possible if the Steelers kept Pickens around if they were going to "go for it" and they were willing to think out of the box that they have put themselves into.

What if Mike Tomlin decided to run a more wide open and innovative offense with a young free agent quarterback. It would have kept the talented wide receiver happy with the production he would be able to put up. The offense would be more dynamic with a younger, more mobile quarterback that can also use his legs to get away from pressure and pick up first downs. More points takes pressure off of the defense. The defense that costs nearly three times more and that is ranked far below the Rams' defense and the head coaching candidate you are trying to make fun of here.

The Steelers also could have moved up in the draft for Jaxson Dart of Tyler Shough in the draft. They chose not to.

This is why I bristle when people try to make points that just pick what they like about how things were done by the Steelers compared to other teams and coaches. You also need to identify and concede how being too rigid in the way things are done or aging ideas can severely limit a team's ceiling.

There was a lot to learn from watching this game last night if everyone was really looking.

The Steelers could have done any or all the things I mentioned here that maybe the two best teams in the league clearly had on display last night. They chose to do none of them.

The Fan is claiming a source said Shula actually bombed his virtual interview with the Steelers despite what Dulac claims. They also claim that Scheelhaase came across as simply 'not ready' to be a HC. Both these factors could explain why they quickly defaulted to Mccarthy.

(maybe Dulac taking Shula's words for how it went?)

Yeah....so I guess my phrasing was off....the post was INTENDED to make fun of all the Steelers fans who have drooled over Shula and his incredible defense....while ignoring that the Rams defense suffered from many of the exact same issues that we have all spent the past how many years hearing people identify as unacceptable when the Steelers do it.

The rest of it....I think myself and many others are on record as being in strong agreement with.

Apologies for not making my snark targets clearer.
