If the Rams kicked the FG there then another FG could possibly win the game.

I would have kicked the FG there. I know there's a ton of risk there, but then if you get the stop, a FG wins. If you don't get the stop, maybe you get the ball back with enough time to tie it up

I know it's technically not, but it feels like this 3rd and 8 is the game. Whoever wins this down is going to win the game. Just a hunch.

What's McCarthy's history on going for 4th downs vs. kicking FG's?

    It doesn’t matter
All the coaches are doing it now
Even Mikey was doing it in the end

His cap hit would have hurt our defensive spending. We would have dropped to 27-28th in overall yards per game from 26th.

    Standard is the standard.

I'm a fairly strong dude, but when you had 300 lb monsters ripping as hard as they can at the ball, I'm a little surprised it doesn't come out more often than it does.

That's why McVay had no choice but to go in fourth down... there was no guarantee the Rams would get the ball back with enough time

How did that work out for Payton when he lost the game by 3 points that he passed on early in the game.

So the Rams Defense was the weak link here.
Like all season, Special Teams failed again.

The fumble by his QB was the biggest play of this game....FG was also not a gimme in this game....both kicker miss a FG twice
