Certainly the media's portrayal of Tomlin helps. Why wouldn't some players want to play for MT when they can get away with murder in the locker room and then there is no accountability for their actions. That certainly attracts a certain type of player to the Steelers. Aaron for his part wasn't going to play for the Steelers until Pickens was gone so there's that.

 

If there was no accountability, why did they get rid of Pickens even though they needed help at WR.

 

I answered that in my previous comment. It's simple Tomlin wanted Rodgers to be the QB for the Steeles but Rodgers being the strong leader he is didn't want Pickens so out the door he went.

 

plus they already made the trade for metcalf before they pulled the trigger on the trade. they were attempting to replace pickens before moving him.

My guess is that this is generally true for other mercs too (e.g. Ramsey).
