So, the final stretch of Breaking Bad begins August 11th. I'm sure this will turn out to be a wild ride. I thought the mid-season cliffhanger was great, and I'm looking forward to it.

    Any other BB fans here?

Man, it's definitely going to be a wild ride. I need to start watching some earlier seasons to get myself pumped up for it.

Yeah, I'd like to go back and rewatch at least the last few episodes leading up to the new ones.

I was always rooting for Walter through just about everything, although there were so many things hinting at him being more of a monster than we realized. But what did it for me was the last scene with Walter and Mike. Ater he did what he did to Mike, I started really wanting Walter to get caught, and I thought the scene with the picture you posted was great.

His transformation from a mild mannered high school teacher to an evil man was very impressive. They can't possibly let him walk away from all of this. Hank is going to bring him down hard.

One of the few shows where a character goes through such a gradual metamorphosis, and where the roles of good guy and bad guy aren't clearly drawn. I root for Walt, but he's full on "bad guy" now. "I'm in the empire business".
Here's a recap of the transformation of Walt, if you haven't seen it before. Viewer discretion etc.

Excellent recap. I'll have to show this to my wife, too.

    can't wait for it myself

    loved it since day one

glad mike got the emmy nod this year sry to see him go

a lot less symbolism in the past two seasons but I love the character transfrmations

still pulling for Walt to outdo his brother in law especially after the 1st few seasons Hank seemed like the bad ass and Walt's son looked up to him more. Theres a lot of giving that Walt gave to Hank without Hank knowing.

    CAN'T WAIT

That was a great line. I have to admit that the foreshadowing left me a little bummed.

It was a good episode. Pinkman has gone off the deep end. It's definitely not going to have a warm and fuzzy happy ending.

Loved the episode. I agree that Jesse is in a bad way.

That was my favorite part of the episode. I've been wondering how long they'd wait to have Hank confront Walt, and they didn't waste any time.

Man, I generally can't stand Skyler, but at least she's sort of sticking by Walt now that Hank and Marie know. Although I suspect her motives are still more for her own self-preservation.

I've stayed away from this thread all week, because I kept forgetting to watch the episode. My observations~

    *Go Skylar.
*You have a billion dollars and you can't stop for a few gallons of water and a hand truck before burying 10 barrels in the desert?
    *Todd. That is all.
*Walt's about to deeply regret leaving Jessie as a loose end.

Ireally did not care for this episode, didn.t like the fact that Jessie is turning into a snitch, and now somehow Skyler has become this stone cld killer, or wants to be, quiet the lil turn around on her prt IMO

Amazing episode tonight. Seeing Hank one step ahead of Walt instead of Walt being one step ahead of someone was pretty satisfying, especially how he used the picture of the barrel in the dirt.

I think this was my favorite episode this season so far, and the cliffhanger really has me dying to see what happens next. More so than the last couple of episodes.

Unfortunately we already know that Walt made it. The first scene of the season showed Walt pulling up to his old house in a car with New Hampshire(?) plates. It seems pretty clear to me that at a minimum Hank and his partner didn't leave the desert.

No doubt. There are 6 of them, half of which are carrying automatic rifles, they take the first shot and they can't hit two guys standing out in the open. WTF?

Yeah, we know Walt will make it, but as far as Hank and Gomez, I think the ending was pretty intense.

Yeah, that was kind of ridiculous. Hank and Gomez were standing in the wide open, Todd's uncle and his group had plenty of time to draw a bead on them, and still somehow missed with automatic weapons.

I also thought there was a bit of a writing mistake when Jesse had Walt on the phone threatening to burn the money. Walt basically confessed to just about everything in that phone conversation while he was trying to win Jesse's sypmathy. If they had somehow managed to set up to record the call, they would have had everything they needed.
