It is preseason and it was against questionable competition, but Jarvis Jones looked like he has the potential to play well. I was at the game and concentrated on him a couple of times. He was bringing good pressure while keeping containment. At least on the few plays I isolated him.

He definitely showed flashes and has a nose for the ball, but still has a ways to go. He appears to be thinking way too much right now, and needs to get more instinctive...he's approx. 1-2 yrs. Away..

HA HA! Probably....the fact that Worlids has not squelched any notion of possible competition by now is proof

I think he starts game 1..
Jason Worilds really pissed off Coach T with the back to back personal fouls. Can you say "doghouse"?

Am I the only one that thinks he looked like a rookie?

On this defense that isn't good enough. You need to be better. He played ok but was out of position and he thought about HIM making play( see the runs to his side in the first quarter had good position put dipped inside) He needs to loose the ego of controlling everything and know he is a part of the bigger defense.

Its the trust he needs to learn. Play your part and it will work amazingly. He has the right attitude for it and will learn.

No debate. Still looked like a rookie 1st round draft pick.

    He did what I expected.

I agree. I think it was Worilds spot to lose and getting back to back 15 yarders isnt the way to do that. Tomlin was pretty pissed!

I agree 100% with this. He didn't look awesome. He looked a little timid and a little slow.

He definitely needs to get stronger and set the edge instead of trying to go inside. Rookie mistake but he will improve.

No, you're not alone. He seemed to get taken out of plays far too easily and tried going around double teams. whoopee he fell on a football

he looked good, but Worilds will start game 1

While I would like to see JJ on the field, I'm rooting for Worilds and Woodley to have healthy monster seasons. Which would mean that JJ would have to earn his playing time. Having said that, I expect him to be a starter before Cam Heyword

That was really bad! I know he feels pressure because they drafted Jarvis but come on man, have to be smarter and better then that.

Honestly, I am looking for Jones to start taking snaps away by the middle of the year. Add to that, I have NEVER liked Worilds on Harrison's side of the defense. He always looked better on Woodley's side. The reason you keep Worilds at this point is to be a safety net in case Woodley does not return to form. You then switch Worilds to Woodley's side and put Jones in his place.

1st game in the big, 2 tackles and a fumble recovery.

    Not bad!

Jarvis will get playing time. Worilds and Woodley with his great hamstrings are known to get hurt and miss time.

Man I really can't wait to see the psycho package this year. Woodley, Jones, Worilds, Timmons, and Robinson could give OCs and QBs nightmares. Throw Big Mac in the middle of all that and we should be able to cause mass confusion. Am I the only one who misses the day's of dropping the NT and DEs into coverage. I can't remember the game but does anyone remeber Big Snack covering the flats and making a huge open field tackle on a swing pass. I think DL could do that and a lot more with Big Mac

Plus we really need depth, keeping them fresh will save some 4th quarter breakdowns like in the previous seasons.
