The Steelers are hiring Mike McCarthy

McCarthy was my least favorite candidate, and of course they end up hiring him. I had a bad feeling the Steelers were going to blow it, and they did.

 

McCarthy will likely call the plays, but he should bring in a young OC to groom him.

 

Where is the hope?

 

This just happened. I can't believe this is happening.

 

Okay, thinking about this for five minutes longer, this only makes sense in one scenario:

If you think McCarthy is the guy to develop the next franchise QB like he did with Aaron Rodgers back in 05/06/07, he makes sense as a bridge.

Now I still think you can hire a different coach and go out and get a really good QB coach so I don't necessarily agree, but if that's the thinking at least there would be some logic behind it...

 

Let's face it. The job wasn't that attractive. No qb.
No defense. No offense either.

 

Going to have to wait another decade probably. Maybe more. I don't know. Completely depressed.

They want Rodgers back.

If this is true I like the hiring just because of how much it’s sending people here off of the deep end

 

Art Rooney has no clue. This team is just a joke.

 

This organization is lost. Why so they can run Rodgers and all the old old guys back for another run?

Maybe Art looked at three straight years of 12-5 records in Dallas with that meddling **** all over his neck and thought, that was a miracle in itselfs. I don't know. I'm in shock.

 

How can you watch what Jax, Chi and NE were able to do with new, energetic coaches and decide to go with this retread?
