100%, you tear this ***** down to the studs and rebuild. You get a new head coach and all new assistants. Everyone in that place from secretary to trainers should feel that tight sphincter when you feel you need to prove your relevance. That's how you stay sharp and avoid complacency. Essentially how the private sector works vs the public sector (like teachers, government workers, etc :lolol:).

Burn it to the ground! Unfortunately Dementia Rooney can’t be fired. His son is supposedly a football guy.

My uninformed speculation is that Tomlin was going to have to fire much of his
I wonder if part of Tomlin’s decision was because he knew that he would need to largely clean house of his coordinators and assistants, and he’s very loyal and couldn’t go through that and have to start fresh with much of his staff. That would add to the toll that a high pressure head coaching job takes.

That's part of the gig, ""It's not personal, Sonny. It's strictly business". If you can't do it or see when it needs to be done you need to be removed.

Stewart was always a quarterback. He was a very good one at Colorado. They realized he was capable of helping them at receiver, but were forced to use him there due to injuries. The whole Slash thing was a great example of Cowher's creativity, but no, he did not convert a receiver into a quarterback.

Im not putting anything on him. Bruce Willis has that I believe looks pretty bad when it’s advanced. I’m saying he seems out of it or very medicated when he talks.

Have any evidence that Rooney has dementia?

That's also a reason Noll retired. He was told he needed to get rid of assistants, had already done that previously and found it painful, and elected to retire instead.

It is funny, I am now hearing a few Mike Tomlin to the Bills rumors out there.

Everyone keeps shutting them down, but wouldn't this be the perfect landing spot for Tomlin to coach someone else's All-Pro QB; like he did in Pittsburgh 20 years ago.

Trading the rights to Tomlin for Josh Allen works for me.

    Speaks volumes:

"One of the most compelling moments from Cowher’s appearance came when he reflected on his own mistakes as a head coach. Cowher admitted that he struggled when he hired outside of his system early in his tenure. Success, he said, came when he committed to developing coaches from within.
He specifically cited offensive coordinators Mike Mularkey and Ken Whisenhunt as examples of internal hires who understood the Steelers’ culture and philosophy. Those hires helped stabilize the staff and ultimately contributed to sustained success.
It was a subtle but pointed observation, especially when contrasted with Mike Tomlin’s long-standing reluctance to hire coordinators from within the Steelers’ pipeline. Cowher’s message was clear: continuity, alignment, and shared vision matter."

Saying he wanted to run it back with MT AGAIN. Has to be on the spectrum.

It's when you hear stuff like this that you have to love Mike Tomlin.

This isn't about his coaching abilities on the field. It's about his leadership, how much he cares about his players, and what he is willing to do for them that shows you how important it was to him to teach more than football.

    Love it.

Am I not understanding this? It was Tomlins insistence on hiring from within that was his weakness. Maybe the difference between Cowher and Tomlin is he was able to develop those coaches whereas Tomlin couldn’t.

Said it before, Tomlin preferred spending time with players over spending time with coordinators.

"Has dementia" does not equal "on the spectrum."
