Nope! Don't want another retread. That's why I'm out on Flores as well.

That's not the standard though. The standard is to win.

God I really hope they don't hire McCarthy.
The guy had 2 HOF QB's and won exactly 1 SB. He also had a very potent offence in Dallas and did nothing with it.
It's not like there was a dynasty standing in his way either. Yeah the Pats were banging out SB wins, but McCarthy couldn't even get his team there other than once.

It sounds like he has a good offensive mind, but is it bad luck that he couldn't get over the hump, or is there something missing in some coaches (and probably players) that come playoff time, they just can't execute when things get tougher? I don't know the answer to that question, but what I do know is Packers fans and Cowboys fans hated him with a passion. Packers fans typically blame him for all their playoff failures.

It just seems like he's the offensive version of Mike Tomlin. A guy who is praised by many but has a ton of playoff failures.

He has a more successful playoff resume but yeah, same amount of trophies with an even better QB.

If the new HC wants to bring him on board as the OC, that might be good.

I'm probably in the minority here, but.....McCarthy as an OC would be good.

These days Ben can be amusing, but his opinions shouldn’t be taken seriously by a decision maker, and I’m sure the Steelers are not saying “hey Ben, we’re flummoxed here. What should we do oh Wise Ben?”

There are two issues with McCarthy:
    1. He really doesn't like to work all that much any longer. You can read about the end of his time in GB and portions of his time in Dallas. He doesn't want to put the maniacal. amount of time in that these jobs require. That is fine. I wouldn't either. But I am also not trying to do the job.
    2. He has not updated his offense in like 15 years. Kind of like Arthur Smith. It doesn't surprise any one any longer. If you have good players that can execute it well...it can work....but it won't help cover up deficiencies as you build out your roster.

Yes. And the Steelers could use Aaron Rodgers for another year while the new head coach fixes the defense and management drafts some stud receivers. Steeler aren’t gonna likely win the Super Bowl next year with or without Rodgers but the team would stay competitive and McCarthy and Rodgers already know their playbook like the back of their hands.

Are you not one of the strongest voices for change because Tomlin's recent tenure was a failure? If that is not your position....I honestly apologize.

But if it is...then you have literally just outlined the exact same plan with different names on the office doors. Help me understand that.
