Ive said this before but Jim Miller was talking on Sirius how his facility @ Michigan St was more advanced than the Steeler facility.

 

these colleges have to impress recruits. Most professional players are drafted and have no choice where to play. This is why KC’s facilities were rated the worst even though they have been successful lately.

Agree with Formerscribe. It shouldn't matter what division or team a coach last coached, if he is the best hire, do it. I think the fear is we hire someone elses firing and it doesn't go well and they laugh at as. I am not arguing for Harbaugh (he's to old and set in his ways now), but I would have been perfectly fine with Stefanski. Mostly because he had a good offensie mind AND hired a VERY good DC, unlike Tomlin, who seemed to love to hire trash OC and DCs so he remained the undisputed King in Steeler-land.

Stefanski was scooped up quickly because he was the best of all the fired coaches as a candidate for another HC gig. It was a good hire by the Falcons. We could do worse, much worse.

 

Lets hope they put less into the HC job and more into the OC and DC hires (and OL). We need less top-heavy coaching setup.

 

We definitely need better OC and DC.
