On November 28 the Newspaper Guild if Journalists celebrated their victory in federal court

January 7 the newspaper announced it had to shut down (which was expected)

Reminds me of the United Steel Workers in the 70’s when they would go out on strike and the plant would just close down

The union damn near killed Pittsburgh

When it first came out, a friend and I agreed that they should have sold the sports section separately for .25. That's all we were interested in.

I was in North Pole Alaska and went into the public library

There were 2 small phone books with Santa on the front on a table free so I took both

I thought they would be fun stocking stuffers

I came back later and two more were out so off they went with me

Next morning there was a sign that if you wanted a phone book to see the librarian

I figured that the Post-Gazette days were numbered when that bastion of the Toledo Blade acquired the PG. The Block family is NOT the Hearst empire.

Will miss the reporters and the coverage of the team. Hopefully they land on their feet elsewhere and continue to cover the Steelers.

That would be the companies that wanted to take advantage of their workers who damn near killed Pittsburgh. By all means, subscribe to the Blocks' misleading version of things if you like,

Does supporting unions vs. bashing them count as a political discussion?

    Birdseed! (Inside joke).

Good for Joe. He worked for the Trib before going to the P-G. I believe Jennifer Bertetto, TribLive's President and CEO, knew Starkey back when both worked at the Valley News Dispatch in the '90s.

Until AI gets so advanced that humans aren't needed, you'll still be good. Likely another generation or two away from that happening. That said, this fast paced, fast track to transhumanism is something I myself find to be disturbing at the very least to mortified at the most.

Physical ownership is sadly becoming a thing of the past. While I am part of Gen Z, I am opposed to this fast track towards a digital future in which nothing can be owned. In layman's terms?!

These Corpos are essentially saying "you will own nothing and be happy."
