Yeah. I prefer an offensive minded coach with a new QB. If it is going to be a defensive coach, better learn to have his offensive coordinator use the middle of the field, seam routes, and slants.

I don't ever want to see that live in your fears, sideline, short pass, offense ever again.

Scheelhaase is the only one I like so far. Need offense.

Perhaps they faced him enough and decided he wasn’t worthy? Perhaps he declined an interview? Perhaps we just haven’t heard about it yet?

Staying on the DC path for the most part there.

Good list, probably like Shula the most out of those names.

I think Flores may have the inside track. His brief time here made an impression on the players, spoke very highly of him.

Personally the offensive minded vs defensive minded head coach thing is way overblown. It also ignores the fact the nfl is cyclical in nature. The last few years that nature has circled back to running the football and playing defense. You also have to keep in mind what the front office has said on multiple occasions. They want to play bully ball. They will hire a coach that shares that vision. If steeler fans have visions of a greatest show on turf offense they will be disappointed to say the least

Told y'all they were going DC.

I'm thinking it'll be Shula. But steelers might surprise me like they did with picking Tomlin.

While I agree. Shanahan turned into a great HC.

Someone out of this head coaching cycle will offer him a job. He wont be here as a DC.

I like Shula too and interviewing Scheelhaase gives you an idea of what two of your potential future coaches would bring.

The big assumption is that Shula likes working with / respects Scheelhaase.

Shula as HC and Scheelhaase as OC would be a nice pairing

That is pretty much what the first group should look like. Maybe not the leading candidates but those are some of the first few names you want to talk to. Gives you a barometer for the rest

What does "carries himself like a battleship commander" even mean? Shouldn't it be a captain? And when was the last time anyone saw a battleship commander under fire? Nelson at the Nile? Someone off the coast of Guadalcanal?

Does anyone think before they write these things?

Definitely like him. He’s going to appeal to Rooney and the history he has behind him. A Shula/Rooney union would be good.
