Sure, but what did they do with it last year?
What did NE do with their players last year?
What did Seattle do last year?

All I'm saying is pair a great coach with a good QB and the sky is the limit. We obviously need both those things, but once in place, we can be a contender quite quickly again.
I truly believe we have the foundation in place, we're just missing a couple pieces. Unfortunately the QB is a big one and hard to address.

People stop talking about a teams turn around for a whole one year. Talk about a team that has turned it around for the last 3, or 4 years. One year means nothing. We've all seen many, many teams turn it around for a year.
Example: last year of the top of my head....Vikings, and Washington. Both didn't even make the playoffs this year.

We need to be more subjective about the Commanders and Vikings.

Commanders lost their top WR (McLaurin) for the first half of the season and Jayden Daniels was on IR in the second half of season. Mariota is nowhere near as good as Daniels. Vikings let Darnold go and replaced him with Wentz and McCarthy who is arguably not NFL caliber. Plus, NFC North is probably the 2nd best division in the NFL behind NFC West. Vikings had murderers row to deal with in Bears, Lions and Packers.

Vikings get a QB and they will be rolling.
Commanders get healthy McLaurin and Daniels back.... they be rollin.

Hell no. All teams lose players, and have Injuries. All of them. Don't give excuses to some that You won't give to others.
You can't talk about OC/HCs being the greatest thing, and then when a OC/HC own draft picked Qb doesn't do good, and then give excuses.
Also we played all those teams.

So Steelers losing Ben in 2019 wasn't an excuse for a mediocre year on offense? :lolol:

Daniels started 7 games this season and was 2-5 in those games.

How can You compare?? Our Qb was injured the whole year. That HC/OC for the Vikings drafted Mccarthy in the 1st round. Who's fault was it that it's not working. If You don't see the difference, I can't help you.

Dylan Cook played better than Broderick Jones, so there was no excuse needed in that situation.

I agree that fluke year can happen, good or bad

I still believe that head coach like Ben Johnson and Mike McDonald have very good future, since they both were great OC or DC and it continue as head coach for their side of the ball...We need to wait before jumping to the conclusion but things look great for them right now

    This 100%.
That's all I ask. I'm not saying they won't be great. All I ask is for people to stop crowning, or downing things so quickly. That's all.

The situation ran its course. He was a good HC, but should retire from the profession and sit in front of a camera all day.

I wonder what they're going to do with Broderick Jones? Maybe switch him to guard?

Ian, really, the man was basically booed out of town by the fans. Since no one in the org gave a damn about what the fans were pleading for years, MT said he didn't feel appreciated. Well, no sh!t. I wasted a good portion of my remaining adult life waiting for an adult to do something. Rooney's are pathetic and I am fearful what comes next in this woke organization and league. Sorry, but this ship annually backed up and rammed another iceberg and finally the HC responsible, yes HC, not position coaches or coordinators which were convenient outlets for him, figured it's time to GTFO. God knows how many chances he had to do something in the past decade and he blew it and in a big way. Only MT can roll up to the playoffs and get smoked year after year. We need someone with a football mind, not cheerleading chants. I won't miss him. JMO>

Yea, maybe for stability, but not for winning rings. A dirt ball can make it through the gauntlet and be around for 15 or more years.

It was a reason certainly the blindspot for the offense that year was Tomlin deciding to fully commit to what QB he had and do his utmost to get the best out of them. They didnt seek to reinvent the wheel or in other words they tried to make two guys who weren't Ben, play like Ben and it went pear shaped quick.

Yeah. They do. When did they not matter? Steelers lost Washington and Elliot to IR. That hurt offense and defense.

49ers are the only team who seem to overcome injuries. Everybody else suffers.

Who crowned anything? They were used as examples of how quick things can change. No matter what they do next year and beyond, things changed with their teams very quick this year.
The point is if we get a great coach to go with a good QB, we can very quickly be a contender again. Doesn't mean it will happen, but it's definitely possible

McCarthy might be wrecked before he ever gets a chance to really be an NFL QB. Some bad breaks in his first two years. No excuses just some bad stuff. He could definitely join the Kijanna Carter support group.
