    As someone already pointed out to me, he was part of the Tomlin hire even though Dan Rooney had the final say, so hopefully he knows better.

    Yup. They just parted ways with an coach that was here nearly 20 years. Of course they have to have a presser for it. He’ll talk about the teams future, the draft coming up in Pittsburgh (perhaps he read my Regime thread) and most importantly that the search for a new HC has begun.

    I believe we will have the next HC announcement in under two weeks.

    Why would Tomlin agree to that? If he wants to coach in 2026 or 2027, the team would have to trade for his rights because he resigned. If he had been fired, he could have gone wherever he wanted in 2026 without the Steelers getting anything.

    Bidwells opened a Center for Stupid Decisions in Pittsburgh.

    Jerry Jones is considering buying KDKA for a bigger outlet for his big mouth.

    That's possible, but I doubt if Art gave him that ultimatum. I think Tomlin told Art before the season that this was going to be his last year. You could see in Tomlin's eyes that the fire was no longer there. After 19 years, it was just time to move on.

    Art ll said he wasn't shocked by Tomlin's decision and he was willing to let him coach the team in 2026. Said it was more of a family related decision for Tomlin.

    Munch himself has cited is daughter and grandkids multiple times since leaving Pittsburgh for staying in the Denver area. He also has family in LA which is close by.

    He left in 2019 and you are citing a 2024 story where he supposedly mused about returning to the Titans. Only thing is, he didnt and has resided in Denver ever since returning there.

    That should be the only clue you need to realize the family was a real reason.

    Why would Flores take that? It makes no sense. He already has a DC job. He is one of the better head coaching candidates on the market.

    That is fairly standard stuff for assistants. Flores is most likely going to end up with one of the nine open head coaching jobs.
