Well you got your wish. Didn't get fired but stepped down voluntarily. I'm sure the rude and disrespectful chants publically in the stadium to be heard throughout Pittsburgh helped him make a decision.

For better or worse, maybe it was just time. The Steelers are now competing with 9 other teams for head coaching positions with 3 in the AFC North.

    Just the facts.

I'm sure the new coach is going to love rude and disrespectful chants from the fans when things don't go perfect. I'm sure that will settle well with the new coach that's looking at rebuilding, aka not having a superbowl caliber team like Tomlin to start with.

    Stay classy Pittsburgh!

Yeah, it sucks when things don't go perfect for a decade. Just the facts.

Things don't go perfect for 31 out of 32 teams once every year.

That for some justifies calling out mindless chants like Neanderthals working with half a brain.

    Just my opinion.

I would think the knowledgeable NFL fans in the Burgh will understand we are about to go through some growing pains. I hope they respect that. I'm ready to have a Pittsburgh Pirate type season in 2026.

You think Steeler fans are the first fan base to call for a coach to be fired?

It’s still one of the most attractive jobs out there. The only other one that can compete is the Ravens. Has that stability plus already have a QB in place. Some even rate them a touch higher because of that.

I don't disagree with the change. I just wonder of some of the fan base can handle emotionally a losing season.

Hold my beer. In fact pick me up a six pack

Tomlin should have been fired after the 2018 playoff loss. Fans have been more than patient waiting for a playoff win or SB appearance. The fire Mike Tomlin chants were very justifiable. I’m glad he is packing his bags even if we happen to go 0-17 next year.

They didn't cross the line, though.

Just look at Philly when they threw eggs at the OC's house after a loss to the bears this year!

Why is that? Our roster with tweaks will be competitive. Pirates are never competitive.

Correct me if I am wrong but when was there ever chants to fire a head coach in an NFL stadium? So Bags holds another record :hehehe:

Damn i'm still basking in the glow of finally this has come to an end! And hopefully he takes one of the jobs opening up so we can secure a 1st round pick or more since the Steelers own his rights.

Some will be retained but this roster needs to be gone through with a fine tooth comb.

Bags left an aluminum roster in where he inherited a platinum one.

Going to take a few seasons to get it on the track to where they are competitive in the playoffs.

A couple of down years will go along way in securing the roster build up through the draft.

The funny thing is I agree with the change.

I'm just not sure the tender fans can handle a losing season.

I didn't appreciate the chants. I feel like it's the fans right to say whatever they want though. If you have a stadium full of fans chanting to fire the HC, there is a problem and one that has festered over time to get to that point. If the fans start chanting to fire the new guy in year one, that's a different set of circumstances.

I've been very vocal over the years about how losing seasons are not the end of the world. Losing seasons are actually the opposite. Look what we got the last time Steelers had a losing season. A franchise QB and 2 Lombardi trophies.

I get what your saying. Didn't mean any disrespect. The chants were warranted to me seeing that it was going to end the same way. And it did. I believe the chants were a part in him in making the decision to leave. Reports from his camp was he felt he was disrespected.

Its a new chapter and to be honest i'm excited again in where this team has sucked the excitement out of me for a decade.
