If Flores is here then we desperately need a strong OC, like Mike McDaniel.

Going to have to be a ton of money to get ahead of Detroit.

He's 44 too old for us. We need them in their 30's so they become institutionalized.

 

It wont be Flores, and I will guarantee it.

 

Except the Steelers have Coaches for 15 to 20 seasons dating back to Chuck Noll. It would likely be a Candidate in his 30s. Flores is in his 40's. That wouldn't work.


Last time the Steelers hired a Head Coach with Head Coaching experience?! Have to go back to Buddy Parker.

 

Given Flores ongoing lawsuit against the league. Do you really think Flores will get a fair shake?

No way Rooney is dumb enough to hire a retread. It's not the Steeler way.

 

Man, I think he's a great DC, but like McDaniels is a good OC, but not a good HCs. People don't understand they are two different things.
Wade Phillips, and Dick Lebeau are two of the greatest DCs ever, but terrible HCs, and You can do the same list with OCs. Some are just not meant to be HCs.

 

Not the kind of choice they have made in the past. Chris Shula fits that profile better, but I'm not sure he is the choice, either. Dan Rooney made the last three hires, so we don't know how this will go.

 

Lafleur would be a retread.

FWIW being the key. There is really nothing they can do to prevent Freeman from leaving. It would sure be hard to pass up a chance to interview for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

I don't know how much of the Watson Trade you can blame on Kevin Stefanski. His handling of the QB room in 2025 was as bad as you can get for Head Coach management.

Those guys started their coaching careers in the NFL then went to college football and came back to the NFL.
