Were you going to enlighten me on these falsehoods of mine you speak of or were you just pissing in the wind?

Back to our debate at hand though. That really wouldn't bother the Rooney's it seems. Again, it is their rule.


I'd imagine there is some pride in preserving it's influence.

It looks like Flores was right about Tua, in many ways. Howard looks like he is the future right now (pre-draft). There is no drop from the sky Mary Poppins candidate, so get used to it. I think Brian Flores should be a front runner. He has been here before which will be to his advantage. To me Flores looks better than some of these other names popping up for consideration

 

agree just thinking how fun it would be give him ****. its what we do to each. talk every April through the draft and if they beat us, its basically their Super Bowl so I don't hear the end of it. this would be just chefs kiss to do that to them.

 

For HC or DC?

 

The rooney rule only requires an interview of a minority coach. It doesnt prevent a team from hiring the best person.

 

"Two" minority candidates for HC and GM. "A" minority candidate for lower positions. "A" positional minority coach on staff.

If Brian Flores wants to be the Steelers Head Coach, I mean if he is committed and really wants to be Head Coach of the Steelers, than I think we found our guy

 

Personally I think he is a better DC

 

He could be a very good choice even if I prefer a offensive coach

 

If Chris Shula takes the HC job, he's going to have to change that haircut. Either that or ALWAYS wear a hat.

I dont think Flores was a fan of his lawsuit, turn the page, we have better ownership than the Dolphins right now, like I said if Flores wants the job, I am starting to think he might be the next head coach, we'll see

 

Me also, but I still hope it's Defensive minded. People can say all they want about Offense minded HCs, but let's not act like there aren't any Defensive HCs still left in the playoffs. People that say well look at the latest is like people trying to say the SEC is done just because they haven't won the last 3, or 4 years, and totally acting like the total dominance of the last 25 year don't count. LoL

I totally agree. I think he's a great DC, but not HC. That's not a bad thing. Hell my two favorite DCs ever were both terrible HCs. Dick Lebeau, and Wade Phillips.

I think the Rooney rule means that you have to interview a minority for the job, it doesn't mean you are locked into hiring them. But I think they tweaked the rule a few years ago that it has to be a legitimate candidate. Some teams were skirting the rule by interviewing some unknown staffer who had a desk at the end of the hall in order to fulfill the requirement.
