Guess I can’t blame him for wanting to be a HC
But I would only want him as a DC

His last half of the season he was probably the second best QB in the country behind Mendoza.

I will miss Tomlin truly. That said, it was time to move on. As for the future?!

    Me and you both!!

Now, if Friday can get here faster, I can finally fix my internet. Currently busted at the moment because my Home Network is bricked due to one of the Routers being bricked thanks to an "update" by the Manufacturer.

I don't understand the fascination with Malik Willis. He was given Pickett like opportunity in Tennessee to succeed under Vrabel and failed miserably. He was again given every opportunity to beat out Rudolph in Titans training camp for back up position and failed that it was not even close. He is a poor man's version of Justin Field.

Truth be told, Flores is a much better fit for Head Coach with Baltimore than he is with Pittsburgh. Lamar is already there and the Defense needs a serious injection of talent. Flores can worry about the QB Position later while in the meantime, he can create the Ravens Defense in his own image.

Yeah he was terrible in Tennessee but turned his career around big time in Green Bay. He was undefeated filling in for Love until he lost a shootout to the Ravens but even in that game he put up big numbers.

Rudolph is trash. He’s not perfect for anything.

Why grade him in Tennessee with barely any experience under his belt instead of the good job he is doing in GB under LaFleurs tutelage.

There arent a whole lot of options for 2026. He has high upside and shown tremendous growth. The caveat with him was he was raw and needed to be developed. That was never going to happen in two season in Tennessee.

A plus in Flores favor is he has already worked here and the players cited him as a tremendous asset during that time.

Seriously though we need to hang onto some of the young talent to build around. Need to move on from some of these retreads.

People for Willis sounds like the same people from the Jets last year when they got Fields. A few good games, and they thought they were getting something. LoL. Did we just become the Jets??
No. I can show you as many good games by Mason, and 100 other backups. There is a difference between starting, and backing up. No teams are scouting, and game planning you week after week after week.

    Willis wont be successful here
Be just like being back in Tenn

With a good showing against Indiana in the championship game, Beck will move into the first round. He's already moved way up the draft board in these playoffs with wins over Texas A&M, Ohio State and Ole Miss.

    True.

That said, there is still the matter of the QB. Pittsburgh doesn't have anyone and, despite the ammo to do so, Ty Simpson sure as hell doesn't inspire confidence from what I have studied. He will need to be redshirted or he may turn into a J.J. McCarthy.

Remember that he has fewer than 600 passing attempts at Alabama (523 total) and the success rate for those QBs is very low. Only the likes of Brock Purdy (489 total) and Jalen Hurts (546) have done so. Simpson is still very much a baby who doesn't know what he doesn't know... for the most part.

If there is one massive advantage he has over the other QBs in the class, dude has a supercomputer in terms of overall processing, is a very good to potentially great manipulator of DBs, very good pocket presence to bring along with great leadership. Short to intermediate accuracy are also very good. His deep ball accuracy does need some work. The arm strength is there but the touch isn't yet.

For me, if the Steelers do intend to gamble on a QB, I'd rather gamble on someone with a bit more tools. Drew Allar still comes to mind. He also needs redshirted but he has a lot more to work with and I still believe he can be salvaged despite the unfortunate ending at Penn State.

Rudolph put up greater numbers in 2023 and he actually won.

Drew Allar has the qb physique
    That’s all
    End of story
    I like Chambliss
    Adding
Allar too much of a deer in headlights in Every Big Game

Something about him rubs me wrong, and I've heard some bad things about him, doesn't make them true, but we shall see.

    Agreed.

At the bare minimum, I do believe the team does indeed have pieces to work with. Zach Frazier is someone who's praises I have sung even before he got drafted as you remember. Same goes for Troy Fautanu; a player I had rated 10th Overall from his class. Mason McCormick is another hit as well. Darnell Washington will come back better I believe. Kaleb Johnson remains the wildcard though I haven't given up on him like most.

Defensively?! Yahya Black and Derrick Harmon I am looking forward to without question; doubly so in Harmon's case. For that matter, I anticipate him being a Pro Bowl vote next season. Jack Sawyer will need potentially another year but he already has shown enough that I am comfortable in saying that he will break out a bit in 2026. Joey Porter Jr has done nothing but validate the Top 15 grade I gave him in 2023. If anything, he is the Steelers best Corner since Ike Taylor. Payton Wilson took a step forward but also a step back. That said, still very much a believer in him. Biggest surprise is Carson Bruener for he was far more a Special Teams Demon than I gave him credit for coming out of Washington.

Getting the QB is key but ensuring that the pieces around him are good enough are more important. As I see it, IOL, OT (pending Broderick Jones' health) and WR are all big needs. Only Defensive Players that entice me for this upcoming class are Sonny Styles from Ohio State and Peter Woods from Clemson; both are ranked as my number one and number two overall players respectively. Players like those don't come around often.
