2026 Draft and free agency with new start.

Only realistic suggestion is to use the Draft Capital currently and trade up for one. Whomever that is I haven't the foggiest. Many say Ty Simpson but the NFL Draft is such a wonky event that anything truly can happen.


Personally speaking, I wouldn't be surprised if the team doesn't trade up at all. This team has a lot more talent deficient area's than just the QB. Quarterback alone does cover up most of the issues but only delays the inevitable. Even Patrick Mahomes himself couldn't last behind... whatever the hell Andy Reid called that Offensive Line.


As how I see it?! Pittsburgh needs to continue their youth movement albeit smartly. I am with @Steel_Elvis in trading back this years First Rounder though for me, there is one major form of pushback with this. Should, somehow, someway, a player from Ohio State by the name of Sonny Styles is available @travis1963?! I don't give a damn of how many picks a team wants to give the Steelers. Draft his ass.


Just watch some tape of Sonny Styles man! You won't be disappointed.

 

I can look out my window and see Primantis they are that close to me. Their sandwiches are the size of a shoebox so bring your appetite. I suggest the original Pittsburgher sandwich that is my favorite. My wife gets their pasta with hot sausage in it and it is really good too.

 

i understand wanting to clean house. but heyward was probably the most consistent DL on the team this year. and watt get double teamed A LOT. i think with a real NT, and i don't mean benton, watt's effectiveness would benefit. benton gets handled by one OL consistently... having a real NT that eats space and OL would make it much more difficult to double watt, or heyward, or highsmith, or herbig, or whomever might be out there.

i seriously feel that with a real live NT, not a DE playing NT, makes watt and the rest of the defensive front so much more viable and dangerous. watt is older, he has lost a step, but i do feel he is far from washed up. and as for heyward....is he immortal or something? he probably had one of his best years in....many years.

 

I saw him play once. I'm in. I wouldn't mind trading up for him. People who can wreck a game are worth it. I would rather be aggressive on draft day than sit and wait and hope.

 

As would I. That said though, Sonny Styles isn't happening. As I see it, I see a lot of Brian Urlacher in his game.


Whomever drafts him as their Linebacking Corps essentially set.

I’m likely going to go as well, though only if my brother can hook me up through some connections lol if I do end up going, I better catch some of you at some point for a beer. I’ve spent over a decade as a degen on this damn board, the least I can do is catch a beer with some of the good people oh here haha

 

I want to go to the draft, but hotels are already booked all over the city from what I hear.


Might have to stay somewhere 2-3 hours a way and just hangout for the day…but probably just easier to stay home and watch on TV.

That first pick will be something though, everyone will be going nuts.
