I think it makes sense for him to ask the world.

Apparently, he signed a three year extension in March of 2025 that would keep him under contract to the end of the 2028 season.

I think coaching salaries are generally guaranteed.

So I think that means he'll get paid what his old contract said for the next three seasons if he doesn't take a job elsewhere.

Not sure if that includes jobs that are outside the NFL (e.g. broadcasting, podcast?).

Apparently, his extension was going to pay him $17MM annually.

If all of this is true (I think it is, but I'm not sure), why would he take anything less than the perfect job in the next 3 years? Getting paid $50MM+ to do nothing is a hell of a retirement plan.

Don't forget the Browns.. Read he might go there because of his roots to the area.

Actually from everything I read, that is only for the Browns if they want him.
    The Demands he set them.

There is an article now on the The Athletic about the Harbaugh firing. It's not a pretty story and definitely shows an organization in dysfunction.

    Which, of course, is great.

One of the many things I hate about the Ravens is the lovefest they annually receive from national media. Now, they are getting trashed. Love it.

Hmm, this smells of AI gone bad:

NFL: Breaking! John Harbaugh has decided who to sign as head coach

NFL: Breaking! John Harbaugh has decided who to sign as head coach

What a piece of news from the NFL! John Harbaugh, the legendary coach who led the Ravens to Super Bowl glory, has decided to take the helm of the Giants. According to insider Wesley Steinberg, Harbaugh was impressed by the young talent of Jaxson Dart and other players on the roster, which was key to his decision.

Or you could argue that O’Connell dug his own grave by choosing McCarthy in the first place.

Certainly what folks do about the Steelers…

    Exactly what I said.
I find it disingenuous to say a HC/OC is genius, and then excuse him for his Qb play, and who he had a hand in picking , and keeping.

I agree that O'Donnell deserves blame for McCarthy.

But if we're only talking about his offensive coaching, he's one of the best in the NFL... He learned a lot under McVay.

    I don’t get it either.

They looked incredible early. Then teams got tape on what they were doing and they fell off a bit. Then Parsons got hurt and they imploded.

    Ok.

Are we sure? He couldn’t figure out anything on offense this year. zero.

Darnold looked good in another team.

Remember the offense completely collapsed at the end of 2024 season with two brutal performances.

If he was a Steelers coach, you would want him fired.

The part you leave out is how long Tomlin has been here and failing. If Tomlin was only in his 4th year than I wouldnt want him gone. A lot of the people fed up with him now were in his corner at one point but Jesus tap dancing Christ when do you guys hold him accountable?

Everything has changed at one point or another, the only constant is Tomlin.

Believe it or not, not everything is a discussion about Tomlin.

I think O’Connell is good but he’s not the dark wizard of QB whispering that many make him out to be.

I suspect I see far more Vikings football than anyone else on this board simply due to my geographical location. And when you watch the Vikings closely, the cracks are not as difficult to see.

If Tomlin wins a playoff game, why leave the head coaching job that has the most job security????

The idea that someone posted how dreamy and awesome O’Connell is. And if he was the Steelers coach, same poster would be complaining about him.

coaches always look better from afar.

He'd still be employed and coaching the Ravens in the playoffs Monday Night.
